There is that city, Hlondeth, in the far east reach of CtB map. Whole 3 city districts with absolutely no quests!? Yes, there is a yan-ti guard (with nice stuff on his corpse, heh) in the gates of some mansion, which obviously looks like quest with all this "you must find another way to get in", but no qlues about where to start searching...

P.S. What I really dislike in this cool mod is an outcome of the quest with courtesan muted by cowls. Last few times I play BG I ended cutting down all those bastardous cowled usurpers on sight (I just hate this kind of self-proclaimed authorities) - in council, in planar sphere, their raiding parties... everywhere. But this time, short after slaying whole final group of their elite enforcers, I met two (just two!!!) of them, who were surely deserving some painful death for their evil actions - yes, I mean this quest. So I explained them that no bloody pompous evil curs is allowed to intervene into lives of others in my presence and start slicing them, but lo! - moment later I was flooded by endless mage reinforcements :( Even if cowleds really had such forces - which is quite unfair, I'd say - where was them few days ago, when I slay one by one all their enforcer groups?

I assume there are quests there, just you weren't of the required race/class combination(s) to activate them.

So would it be better if the "endless reinforcements" were some sort of summoned being rather than a Cowl?

I'm actually quite pleased to hear that you found that quest.... it's pretty elusive by design. As to the city of Hlondeth, there are currently 3 quests available there, with another one packaged up waiting for the website fixes, and another one in the works.
Play SoS! And then play CtB!

Err, no :) But it surely would be better if they were finite. Hard - maybe, although it would be strange if they will be harder than beforementioned elite enforcers group. But why make 'em complitely invincible? It's, as I said before, unfair :P . How many combats in original BG2 are absolutely impossible to win? Zero, I'd say...

Ugh, and I finally slay theese two bastards down - just force-attacked them without initiating dialugue B)

Any chance some of already existing quests are available for kensai/thief and how could I get 'em?

Totally untrue, there are battles that are completely unwinnable,
you try and kill renal bloodscalp, just out of the blue and one person comes
in out of no where with an imoen's belt equipped and a silver ring, the ring makes it so
he never misses and will do an auto-kill hit, imoens belt of course makes one immune to level drain imprisonment and your life can't go blow one. so that battle there is impossible. Just so to say, if you have a problem with fighting them, don't fight them, you may hate them but some places are just nonsense to fight someone, its like fighting a divine being on there own home plane, you just don't do it...
when someone has a certain level of power, you just don't fight them when they have the advantage....

Arkanis Gath. And if you cast Protection from Magical Weapons and polymorph/shapechange (I forget which it is, shapechange I bet) into a Mind Flayer, you can Int drain him to death. =p

But that's a special case regardless...it kills you because it means you've screwed up the game and can never complete it. Which I have to say (been playing NWN lately) is FAR BETTER than having bloody invulnerable questgiver NPC's. Sure, you might screw up the game and never be able to beat it, but at least BG2 gives you that option. It just kills you immediately after that so that you don't spend the next 3 hours trying to figure out how to proceed in the game, when it's impossible to do so anymore.

Disclaimer: I have no idea what battle the original poster is talking about, and maybe it's supposed to be a special case just like Arkanis Gath. I just popped in to point out that Arkanis Gath *is* a special case and only kills you because you can no longer proceed in the game.
