I was just making a comment about the reliability of prophecies. ;)

Especially as this prophecy was dreamed up by a madman infused with a portion of a god's divine essence :).

Are we talking about Sammaster or Alaundo here??, both infused with deific power but I believe only 1 of them was insane..

Seeing as until your post no-one even mentioned Alaundo in this thread, Sammaster would be the most logical answer :).

Heheh, it slipped quite easily from dragons to prophecies.

Threads evolve, and split into new topics. Thus the circle of posting continues.

I'm a little goofy right now. ;)

The Cult of the Dragon is a religous organization, they worship dracoliches. The higher ranking members have potent magic left over from Sammaster's (the founder of the cult, who prophesied that "dead dragons" would rule and so invented the process to create dracoliches) time that can control dracoliches. These upper ranks are more interested in using the dracoliches as tools in personal agendas than worshiping them.

Offically, it's MUCH easier of a process to create a dracolich than it is to create a human lich, at least in terms of the resources and magic involved. The tricky part is convincing or forcing a dragon to take part in it.

So, it would be like this: The High ranking members of the Cult acting as masterminds and controlling the dracoliches and the lower ranking Cult members worshipping the dracoliches, but actually they would be just doing what the dracoliches controllers want, correct?

Thats pritty much it. Of course, there are rather frequent exceptions. As a rule the ones that have made it to positions of power look after them selves first and the "offical" cult beliefs second.
