I have a BGT-only question, since TeamBG is gone and I have nowhere to look. Does BGT include ascension? And if not, is it compatable? And, will it hurt anything if I install it into an existing game (I'm nowhere near the TOB or even the SOA part yet)? Thanks!

It is not included with BGT. (It is included with BP, but you weren't asking about that one 'eh.) It shouldn't harm your existing game at all.
