If you're voting, I'd like you to reply with your choice as well. I'll take the named replies as well as poll results into my consideration whether it's changed or not.

I will be hated, but I voted for E. I just want the number of pales of milk needed reduced to 2 and shorten the time it takes to get the scrolls copied. Maybe speed up your movement rate to the speed of when the kids are playing. This will let players get though faster by resting.

Voted D... should get the feel adequately for what you are trying to do, story wise.

As for the Lesson, .... why not something special, something new .. something that brings together the concept that you are child of Bhaal

So....

1.chore
2.Hide and seek
3.Talk seriously to Gorion about prophecy...(normally comes at end)
4.to test the truth whether you are child of bhaall... he awakens the new HLA from your blood.

This way you tie in all the elements of your story.

Hope this makes sense.

I voted a)
I think that all of chores are interesting enough so all of them deserves to be seen. What makes them terribly annoying is that I had to repeat each of them 5 times. On the other hand, I don't want to lose any of lessons (or, rather, any of new abilities, :P ). So, having 5 chores & 5 lessons, it's an ideal variant to have one of each per day, since while 5 chores in a day is quite normal, 5 lessons in a day will be looking somewhat strange.

I voted A since it comes closest to my suggestion as below. I only noted the poll after having commented on the other thread. Perhaps admin should move my suggestion here in order to keep things orderly? I dunno.
Anyway, I still think that Five chores the first day and then the option to do them or not and watch them on video is the best way, but one chore a day, five days, comes closest. Thanks CB for listening to our opinions despite our bitching over the mod that you have worked hard to create. I for one just want to add to the enjoyment off it, not dizz you or bitch. Rather I must applaud you for it. Thanks for CtB and for listening to us.

Best wishes; Palle

I voted B because I think that once you've gone through the chores once, you'll get the general feel of things around candlekeep, without losing the bnefit of the lessons, which also gives you a feel of how you were raised from a less traditional standpoint.

I voted A. It seems a good idea...less chores...more cool lessons...

But I would have prefered an option to select three chores and one lesson a day. It strikes kind of a balance.

I voted "A" as well. I actually like all the content, it's just the repetition I find tedious. I suspect this option is the least work for the revision, too :)

I voted for A, as I get very tired of the tediousness of repeating chores day after day, and am notorious for starting new games frequently to try out different classes and party combinations. While I did play through the whole sequence several times, I've lately started just CLUAing my way through (shame on me, I know) so I can get on to the meat of the game. I did like the suggestion Shiva made about tying in the new abilities more to the dawning awareness of Bhaal's blood rising in Charname's veins, even ever so slightly in the tender years of Candlekeep.

All in all, though, I really like what I've seen of the mod so far. I've not yet made my way through all of the quests, but it's wonderful to have such a great influx of new content.

B. Or at least a way to bypass the repetition after the first time through the game. You should definitely go through the whole process once. Perhaps a special person to talk to that allows you to bypass the other training sessions? The person only shows up after the first day, so you will always have to do the chores that day.

I thought there were only four days of chores and four lessons. I am actually in favor of three chores per day as opposed to five.

I know...obviously. I was just saying that I agree with the fact that you don't need to re-do candlekeep or re-structure the chores and lessons, just add an option (maybe a narrator NPC) during the first day to skip the whole thing and get to the game.

That way, the first time through, you could have the option of doing all the chores and lessons (experiencing your mod the way it was intended originally), and the second time through the game you could skip it IF you wanted.

Chao!

If you reduce the number from what it is at the moment, please include the option in the mod for the number of chores to remain the same. :)

Option A I believe will give the best path to do all chores, view all lessons, and make it thru the Candlekeep experience quickly.

Inevitably, some people are not going to like the chores, even if they get a zillion HLAS...

perhpas some kind of option... like telling gorion to go stuff his chores in a childhood tantrum... has you being locked in the tower.... and the chore scene ended...
no HLAS>>> but no chores either....

hence my vote for option D (and see other reply, above)

I voted for A. I like the chores and the lessons, but I am also one of those folks who keeps starting again with new parties. I don't want to have to spend hours doing chores every time I want to try something new.
Even if it doesn't get changed, CtB is ace and I love the fact that you're considering our opinions with regards to improving the game. If every game had this level of user participation, I feel the world would be a better place. :D
Keep up the great work, dude.

I voted for A also.

I love the idea of revisiting CHARNAME's childhood, but having to perform each of the 5 chores 5 times is just painful. Though not as painful as playing hide and seek with Imoen each day. I can understand doing my chores being necessary for Gorion to teach me, but going through the same cut-scene with Immy five times too seems excessive.

I think doing each chore once will be enough to give us all the general idea that CHARNAME had a stern but loving upbringing.

Also, if at all possible, add two more cows. It's ridiculous that the cook sends us out to get an amount of milk that will require us to stand around for hours waiting for the udders to refill. Either she should only want 2 cows worth, or there should be four cows.

:bash: I read the description of CTB and thought this would be an amazing mod to try. The most anticipated feature was being able to avoid the boring first dungeon. You can imagine how much I HATED DOING THOSE CHORES!!!! I did not even finish one day's worth. I uninstalled the mod, but that left my game messed up, it crashed my computer everytime I opened the game file. I finallly had to delete the entire BGII folder to get RID OF THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE. It is the worst chunk of sheet if have ever seen. Give your head a shake... hours of doing chores??? On a computer for fun??? I use the computer to AVOID doing chores, not play a game with them. I don't care one bit how "cool" the rest of this mod is, the beginning kills it completely. What a stupid concept.
