Hello,

I`v recently made a new install of BG-TOB with BP, CTB, Redemtion,Tashia and Ruad.
However, i believe, that somehow irenicus dialogue is kind of mixed up ....

In the beginning in the cages in Jons dungeon he says something like "I`ll go into the underdark, i heard there`s good treasure-hunting there "

And after i fought through and find him outside in waukeens promenade in the following cutscene he says something like "Ohh, adventurers ... I need adventurers... " and " Can you sign my shirt ...... ", which i beleive are dialogues of bystanders. Afterwards he teleports away with imoen....

However my BG is some years past now and I don`t remember Jons Dialogue outside but these lines don`t sound too fitting !!!!

Anyone has any ideas ? Or is this the correct dialogue ????

Thanks in advance

L.

This was part of the Ease Of Use Shorter Cutscenes component, which I heard BP unfortunately automatically includes (you either love Shorter Cutscenes or you hate it - I'm the latter. ;)).

You might be able to fix it by deleting the associated cutscene scripts from your Override directory, though I don't offhand remember the filenames and don't have access to tools atm.

So it's not a bug, just a bit annoying! ;)

Actually BP does NOT include the shorter cutscenes. It is not compatible with them either. (Andyr's not the only one who hates 'em.) ;)
Sounds like you installed EoU components that are not compatible with BP. Doublecheck the readme.

Thank you for the quick answers, however I really didn`t install Ease of use....

My Mods were in that installation order:
SOS
TDD
TS
BP
CTB
Tashia
FR-ROV
Redemption
Ruad

If these Ease of use components are contained within one of these mods, then it might be possible I installed it, however I not consciuosly aware of having sinstalled one of these.

Is there any possibility of keeping my saves and installing fresh or do i have to makle that Dungeon-Crawl again ??

Oh, right - Hlid is probably one to trust here as I think he knows more than me about BP!

I had thought they were included with TDD though? In either case, it won't affect the rest of your game, so you should be able to play on.

The Dungeon Be-Gone and other short-cut tools all came after TDD. Actually, since TDD adds so many new enemies to the dungeon, I don't think they would have ever wanted you to shorten the crawl. The ability to remove the little movies in-between chapters would be nice to add into the game though. They aren't compatible either right now.

I don't think any of those mods add in the DBG utilitiy, so I am not sure how you got that dialog of Jon's. But it is the dialog when you have the DGB installed.

The culprit here is probably not the eou component (which u said u didnt install anyway) but TDD or SOS.The truth is when u install these two u must ONLY select the baldurdash fixpack components and NOT the shorter cutscenes component which I think u DID select when u installed either SoS or TDD. So I guess a full reinstall following EXACTLY the readme options is probably required...

Did we give the option for those shorter cutscenes in TDD? Tells you the last time I installed it! (It's an option if possible, certainly not manditory.) Can someone confirm either way?

You can always try to use your saved games. No guarantee though since the problems in your game may travel to your new game through the saved file. Some global settings are stored your saved file, so any quests you solved will already be listed as solved.

Hlid, both TDD and SOS have a "Shorten BG Intro Sequence" option. I just ran another install to see which one had it and I was surprised that both do.

Lannister, don't select that option!
