For anyone looking into adding CtB into their BGT-BP/BGT-NeJ-BP game, I have a mini-mod available on TheWizard's site http://iegmc.mirror.....sg/bp-bgt-ctb/ for you to try.

This does not modify CtB in anyway. I have simply rearranged three areas of BGT that CtB overwrites with its own areas; AR3500 (the river area north of the gnoll stronghold), AR3600 (the xvart village), AR3601 (the cave on AR3600).

I have also created a new Worldmap. This uses CBisson's map (great map by the way) for CtB-BP and added in the BGT areas. It also has the DSotSC and BoneHill areas on the map (these mods are not compatible with this project yet).

So, what I need are some willing souls to test this out. I really need players who have gone through CtB before as well as BGT. I don't need anyone that just has a pulse. :lol: I can't troubleshoot problems in CtB and CB shouldn't be expected to troubleshoot BGT problems. So if you know how to move quickly through the game and can test multiple games and are willing to rebuild if needed, this is a test for you. If you don't know how to modify a TP2 or global variables, please wait until we get this working correctly.

Instructions: Install a BGT-BP game and patches. Before installing CtB, run the CtB-BGT-BP-Prep.bat file. Install CtB and then install this fix. You should be able to then install Ease and any other mods you want. Do not install BoneHill or DSotSC. BoneHill should work because it doesn't touch the worldmap but DSotSC installs its own map and will break this game. It also changes the areas that CtB overwrites so it would break a CtB game. I will post patches to both soon.

Did you use the TP2 file from CB's website? The one that comes with 1.50 is known to be broken.

Side issue, I have had more success with installing CtB if you don't install the optional music. Remember that the songlist is full already. CtB doesn't add to it, it replaces some of the listed music. It should work fine but I had two failed installs when saying yes to this option.

Other issue (which I should have posted in the first message). There are two batch files with this mod. Please run the CtB-BGT-BP-Prep.BAT file before running the CtB Setup file. This small file will extract out of the biffs the two files that CtB needs to confirm it is installing onto a BP/BGT game. Seems that Weidu is flaky on finding these files in a biff, but will find them in the override just fine.

The other file, CtB-BGT-BP-End.bat biffs the three new areas. Not critical but may help you out.

No, I didn't use the corrected .tp2 file. And now I'm rebuilding my BP-BGT base, so it'll be a few hours before I can try again. Oooooh......

That little prep file I included puts the two files CtB needs into the override directory. Otherwise, you get weird problems like this. The two files CB is looking for are BPITEM02.2DA and DDMARY.DLG. If you had autoinstalled everything, these are now biffed and CtB can't find them. If you unbiff them and put them in the override folder, CtB will know that you have BP installed. For my batch file to work, make sure that a WEIDU.EXE file is in the SOA folder. I think CtB puts one there anyway.

appears to be installing successfully as I type.

On Edit: CtB appears to have installed OK. However, your fix had the following error message:

Great Sir BB,

This sounds really cool!!! When does CtB start? At the geginning of BG2 or the start of BG1? It would be nice to do your chores at the start of BG1. I know CB is working on expanding CtB (I am not sure if a little or alot), will the expansion need an addtional patch?

I think I will wait a while to install this. At least untill the DSotSC and SoBH patches come out or maybe even after NeJ1+2 is ready and then install a BP/BGT/NeJ1+2/GC1/DSotSC/SoBH/CtB.

How about a BP/BGT/NeJ1+2/GC1+2/DSotSC/SoBH/CtB/DSoA/DR/PS/PSR/FR&RV/MM/IR/UB/Ruad/OPP/Banter Packs/NPC Flirt Packs/EoU/IUg/UrI/BG1 NPC Project/ Install?? And when RtW, RoT LoI, dAR, Mage/Familiar Banterpack and NPC Strongholds are ready I want to add them too!

Chev, calm down on the requests! I don't know anything about CB's additions. I just work on what is already available. So I haven't seen the new NeJ or any of these other future mods. No word back from the NTotSC creator. I still have to finish the DSotSC patch to be CtB compat and since BoneHill never used the map, you could probably install it now (good test).

CtB starts the way it has always started, in Jon's dungeon in SOA.

It would be cool to have the CtB chores come before starting BG1; however, that's really outside the scope of what Sir BB is doing. Maybe if we ask CBisson really nicely....

I think that TGC2 has mutated into a different project over at the Black Wyrm forums, and the creator indicated he was only working on a BG1/TuTu, and not a BGTetc, platform. Of course, SoBH wasn't intended for TuTu either, and that's happened now, so most likely it will eventually be compatible, even if the original creator doesn't do it. But don't expect it any time soon.

And if RoT is the Driz'zt project, I had the distinct impression that it wasn't going to be compatible with other stuff. Of course, I could be wrong.

And what have you got against HoV, LC, DH, and CoMBGE? Hmmmm? :D

Trust me guys I know that is just a dream for now. But some day I hope it can be real. I have not been fallowing GC2 closely. NeJ1+2 should be playable (main bugs should be creature animations) and I am meaning it as a test. Sir BB did you PM Aurelinus about NTotSC? He wanted to talk. And YES, I WANT IT ALL NOW!! I have learned to wait and I have learned that modders who are working on a project and see no interest in their mods get discouraged. Sir BB, you and hlid are 2 of the fastest mod makes out there, no pressure on you, take your time. The rest of you mod makers know that we (I) want to play your mods!!!

I did send a PM but haven't heard back yet. Until then, I still have my sequel mod to work on anyway.
