When a god looses all of their worshipers, they die, correct? So wouldn't any mortal that newly acendeds to godhood (I know i'm making sound a little to common, but it happens enough) immediately die from worshiper lack? I know I must be missing something, but I don't know what.

Which is why only the greatest of mortals have even the opportunity to ascend to godhood. Essentially, by the time a mortal is ready to ascend, s/he most likely has already achieved great fame/infamy.

Also, if they're replacing a slain deity, they seem to get at least some of that worship energy automatically. For totally new Powers, they'd better hope that they either have a lot of worshippers already, or that they have an established Power helping them out. In the Player's Option books, it says that a mortal seeking to become a Power needs a Power to act as a sponsor.

Either that or Lord Ao's direct intervention which is very unlikely.

True, an overpower can help as well. They'd only be a single-realm power though, so they'd be kinda weak.

Yeah well, 'even' a single-realm power is quite powerful compared to i.e Elminster...

Yeah, but they're wimps compared to multi-realm Powers.

A quick bit of info.

It's a diceless RPG, and the reason I mentioned it is that the characters are fairly close to deities.

Yes, I read them, but can't say I'm impressed. Not to my liking very much, I'm afraid. It's just about the too powerful chars an' all that. I prefer FR and Dragonlance.

I didn't say it was good, just that the characters are fairly god-like. ;)

Err... Amber characters aren't really that powerful compared to high-level D&D characters... (who can only be trumped by mortals who have DragonBall powers anyways...) - a dozen or so dire wolves can actually threaten two fairly old amberites...

Heh. Closest I ever got to playing a god in an RPG was when a buddy asked me to RP a Demon Prince for his In Nomine game.

Beleth. Gotta love the psychological torture she puts her servitors through. Why?
