Just noticed something odd. Really I think it belongs in a NI forum, but unfortunately Jon Hauglid does not maintain a NI forum, nor am I aware that anybody else does either.

Anyway, here's the thing. Recently I was just looking at my party of five (main character plus Imoen, Jaheira, Khalid, and Edwin) using NI. The game is a BP-BGT-NEJ plus miscellaneous others install. For some reason the list of kits to select from in setting the kit for the character is massively shortened for Edwin. For all other characters there is a seemingly full kit list of about 130 kits (EDIT: appears to be 113). For Edwin the available list is about 30 kits and does not include all of the basic BG2 kits (e.g. Kensai).

This all seems pretty odd. I would have thought that NI was reading the kit list from a 2da file. However, if that's what NI did, then the kitlist should be the same for all characters (in all different games). Apparently it is reading something specific to the character in producing the list, and I have no idea what it is reading.

This is not a big deal one way or another, but it puzzled me when I noticed it, so I thought I would see if anyone else has had a similar experience with kits and NI, or an explanation as to why this happens to Edwin.

Cheers,

Dennis

EDIT: Just noticed that the Kit numbers that show up when I look at Edwin's kit list are completely fouled up. In the regular list the numbers are essentially 1-113 (I think, having just been looking at them). In Edwin's list the numbers include entries like HELM 33554432. Pretty much all the entries seem to have screwed up values. But, still, just for Edwin.

EDIT: Just realized the Edwin kit numbers are all powers of 2. The sequence is out of order and goes higher than I am used to going with powers of 2, but that's what it is - 0, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, ... 33554432 ... and so on.
