Hello, I want to install the following BG1 mods for BP-BGT-NeJ-DSotSC but I'm a little confused as to which ones come first:

BG1NPC + Music + Portraits come before DotSC right? (or does it matter?)
Then comes Secret of Bone Hill?
Then DSotSC?
Then optional WeiDU mods? (Like Ease of Use)

Thank you for any assistance

So far no one has reported any specific problems with any particular order. I suggest installing the bigger mods first (DSotSC, SoBH) then the smaller ones (BG1NPCBGT, Ease, Item Upgrade, etc.)

Except that this order is wrong. DSotSC has to be installed after the BG1NPC mod. Both modifiy area AR3200's script, however, the BG1NPC install overwrites any area script. This would break the area script updates from DSotSC. DSotSC appends to the area script. Therefore, it has to be installed after the BG1NPC mod.

BoneHill and other mods can be installed after these two mods. The last one to install is the new CtB4BGT-BPv2 mod which fixes the worldmap (again).

My mistake. Sorry. Is this the only area? I've attached a quick-fixed AR3200.bcs for you marty (rename .txt to .bcs and copy to override folder overwriting older .bcs) just in case you installed DSotSC before BG1NPC. I certainly need it. :o

It is the only snag we found during beta testing of the two mods. Hopefully, when Hlid builds out the next version of BG1NPC ;) this will be fixed.

Thanks for the script patch. That is probably the best solution now for players.

phew! this is one heck of an installation: So to get the order straight from scratch...

1) Install BP-BGT-NeJ with autoinstaller
2) Apply 313 patch
3) Apply NeJ Fix 1.4p
4) Apply S and H patch 4
5) Run the CtB-BGT-BP-prep.bat file to prepare your game for CtB.
6) Now install CtBv150.
7) Install BG1NPCBGTv1
8) Install DSotSCv12 (At this point your worldmap is trashed.)
9) Run Setup-CtB4BGT-BPv2. This will install the correct two areas AR3498 and AR3499 and correct worldmap.
10) Run the CtB-BGT-BP-end.bat to biff the files from the fixed areas (optional).
11) Install other mods - Ease-of-Usev20, BoneHillv11, etc.

When do I apply the area script you posted Ascension64? Or is it not neccesary since i installed BG1NPCBGTv1 before DSotSC?

Grrr...I've tried running the installation right after I apply the 313patch for BP-BGT-NeJ and i STILL have Imoen not appearing at the start of BG2 after Irenicus leaves his dungeon.

I've done a little testing to try to find the root cause:

Clean BG2 installation: Imoen appears and music for the dungeon starts
BP-BGT-NeJ310: Imoen does NOT appear and music does NOT start
BP-BGT-NeJ313: Imoen does NOT appear and there is no music for the dungeon AND there are TWO Minscs and TWO Jaheiras in their cells.
NeJv14p + S&H: same as 313

On my other computer I have BP-BGT-NeJ313 installed from an old set of files i downloaded about a year ago. It works fine. The only difference between this old installation and my new one is that, on the old one, to play a BG1 game I clicked a button called "Baldur's Gate 1" where as on my new installation I have to click "Tutorial". Does this information have any relevence?

Ive attached a complete install guide that details my every step. Also I hope to post this guie to the BP-BGT forum to help furure generations not have to go through the pain of figuring all this out...

thanks guys

[Edit]: I've made few minor corrections to the install guide. Thanks Hlidskailf.

If you're getting the "Tutorial" button instead of BG1, it means you do NOT have the mod installed correctly.

Edit: looking at you list, I don't see you having run BG1 and BG2 at least once prior to starting the madness. This is required for a successful installation.

Well I decided to do a complete reinstall with my old downloaded files and everything seems to be working fine.

Thank you hlidskialf, but I did remember to configure BG2. (I even wrote it in my own instructions :D ). The only possible cause of my problem that I can think of is that one of the BP-BGT-NeJ310 files I used must have been flawed. But I dont see how that is possible because I downloaded the whole set just 2 days ago! Ironically it was my year old files that saved me.

Anyways so I guess I can sit back and enjoy a LOOONG game of baldur's gate now.

Btw any comments on my install guide at all? Mistakes? Suggestions? Do you think it would help people? Being just an average BG2 player, I think a lot more people would play this super-mod, if the install was a little more straight forward. Right now you kinda have to piece together the instructions from reading many install guides and posts. That why I hope my guide will help.

Anyways BIG thanks to Ascension and Sir Billybob and hlidskailf. Couldn't have done it without your help.

Just a few comments:
Sir Billybob I dont think you included the prep.end and end.bat files with the Ctb4BP-BGTv2.

Also, Ascension64 is the script file still necessary if you install BG1NPCBGT before DSotSC?

Thanks

Well, he forgot.

No.

For the guide, just remember to run and configure BGI as well.

As mentioned over in the CtB forum, yes I forgot to include them. The end one isn't really needed since it only biffs two areas (and you have almost 40 areas of DSotSC unbiffed). So I was thinking they weren't needed anymore and totally forgot that the first one is critical to getting CtB to install on BGT-BP. (duh!).

Anyway, I was thinking of the idea of a bundle package. One that you can download to prep the game, installs DSotSC, new worldmap, fixed areas, and biffs the files for you. I may not do this until NTotSC is stable though. Since it requires DSotSC to be install first, I might as well put them all together in the same package. Just something to think about gang.

I said run, not configure. ;)
Besides I was pointing out you didn't mention this step for the BG1 portion as well. Nor did you mention it this time. It could cause significant errors otherwise.

For the guide, just remember to run and configure BGI as well.
