I read some of the posts here too late...
I have a party in ToB, and was waiting for RtW, of course.

Just to keep playing, I started Watcher's Keep, and thought
"after this I'll go to vacation, then maybe the mod will be ready"!

Now I fear I won't be able to get the quest, having already left Saradush..

Am I wrong?

Yes. All you have to do is visit the road outside Saradush on the way to the Marching Mountains at any time to get the quest. You can then take the quest at any point up until you decide you are ready for the end of the game in the throne.
