ok i am stuck.....when i first played the game i saw carth onasis as the admiral of the republic...
when i played it again, it changed...the admiral of the republic was this black guy.
is there something u need to say the have the old characters in KOTOR to play a role in KOTOR 2..

As far as I know, it works like this:
This is a spoiler for KOTOR 1 so a warning is in order

The trick is your dialog with Atton in which you determine Revan's Alignment.
If you choose Dark, then Revan works together with a Dark sided Bastila and Carth gets assasinated.
If you choose Light, Revan disappears, but Carth lives an gets promoted to Admiral
