I was busy with the farm quest you get in Arlax and made my way to the farmlands. I killed all the orcs in the progress and my journal states that I should look for the cave.
The problem is,
When I approach the cave and spot the two fire giants, my game always crashed to desktop. I tried different ways like only 1 party member, summoning monsters, but it keeps crashing.
Any help?

I had the same problem, kill giant with CTRL+Y and it's good

I think so, by the time I was able to to download RoT, the patch 1.01a was released.
