Well, over at CoM, I am making four NPCs. They've been coming along quite nicely, but recently I have discoverd that I CANT CODE FOR MY LIFE!

So with that in mind, I am searching for a project coder. I can still do the writing myself, but I need a coder!

If you're interested, please PM me.

Just to let you know your links don't work for you have two http's in your links.

Still modding the Mod for the Wicked... It is a big project you know... And I got sidetracked (several times) a bit... sorry.
However, as we all know, Evil never really sleeps.

(1st march 2009) SHS women over me:
Kat: if there were more guys that looked like you out here, people's offspring wouldnt be so damn ugly
Noctalys: you are adorable :P

~~ I love it, and I am humbled! Yay! ~~

The following is almost verbatim from a reply I gave to a similar question on the "Mod Ideas" forum, but I thought you might find it useful so here it is again:

+++++++++++++++++++++++

First of all, dissecting an existing mod (and preferably not too complicated a one - another NPC would be good) is the best first step in learning how to code.

I am speaking from experience here - although I have been around longer than I care to mention, I only started coding (or even looking at code) a couple of months ago with absolutely zero programming or coding experience of any kind before - I used to think DOS was something students did in their spare time. I was terrified at first, but once I started looking at existing mods and asking questions I soon found out that there were no end of people around willing to help me out. I still have a LOT to learn, but I know there are people around all too willing to help me out so I am not worried.

The key thing is to ask little questions at first. All the wonderful experienced modders around here respond willingly and enthusiastically, and without patronising "newbies" at all, provided questions are framed like "What does this bit of code do?" or "How would I do <INSERT SPECIFIC AIM HERE> in my mod?". However, simply asking "How do I code?" or "Will someone code for me?" will not generally get the response you are hoping for.

So, at the risk of paraphrasing Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy... DON'T PANIC!. Take one step at a time - the best start-from-scratch tutorial I have found for someone completely fresh to modding is Ghreyfain's How To Make a Simple NPC tutorial. If there are parts of that tutorial which you don't understand then I know from experience that people will be willing to explain sections in more detail if you ask for help or clarification - I know, coz that happened to me!

As someone who can code fairly well and can't write worth a damn I thought I'd add something.

Unless you are willing to give a coder full input into the mod then you are unlikely to find one. Too often writers use coders as workhorses. Yes, they are very appreciative of the work done but as soon as the coder expresses an opinion on the writing things get nasty.

I always think learning to code is a good idea but if you really don't feel you can (or don't want to) offer a potential coder more.

You're working on four NPCs, and you just worked this out  ?

Well, please heed the advice given above. If you have got the tools, read the tutorials, consulted the readmes, studied other mods' coding, and you are still having trouble, ask for specific help and tuition, so someone may be able to help you.
