I know Traya tries to explain what happened to Revan at the end of the game but I just couldn't grasp it...

as far as I know (and as far as I'm aware everyone else too)

Well, I don't think it is that clear at all. It is never stated he went to "fight the true Sith", I remember it was something like take part in the war of the True Sith, fight the war of the True Sith. And the very same thing goes for the Exile in Kotor2.quoteing myself

There's also some abiguity over whether "unexplored space" is literally just an unexplored part of the normal universe, or some other reality where thought and form are not so seperate.

If you look at my "Game Secrets" thread it explains what happens to Revan. There are many people who like to argue with me about that, however, despite the fact that I've seen it happen in game. It's a very hard "ending" to obtain, but if I manage, I will get screen shots.

revan should have been involved in kotor 2
it would have been more joined with the other game, it was completely un-related.
