Okay, if you're not going to handle it centrally...

As of this Sunday, any banners that still read "Forgotten Wars" on them will be removed from the PPG banner rotation. Those of you who wish to continue to receive banner impressions and clicks from the PPG banner rotation are advised to send revised banners with the inaccurate frames either revised or removed to jcompton@pocketplane.net .

Well, howdy, guys and girls.

So just a few days (or has it been about a week now?) back I got an email from the Spellhold Studios staff telling me about the relocation/grand opening. I've been way out of the BG modding loop for over a year now ... and I'm actually very glad to see you all still alive, well, kicking, and seemingly prolific. :)

Like I said, I'm way out of the loop and thus not too up to date on what's been happening (and I wonder how many folks here even remember me?), so I figured I should poke my head in, say hi, see what's up. I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss the whole BG modding arena.

Congrats on the new site and whatnot. :D
And uh, if I may weigh in on an apparently contentious topic... I like the new brown look.

Some of us do. I even made them an offer on the Allies From the Shadows forum during the "Lost Our Lease, Everything Must Go!" sale, but nobody really seemed to get the joke/find it funny.

Having just been involved in a major crisis in another on-line gaming community, it has put a recent events here in perspective. In comparison to the vile, selfish, childish and destructive little trolls and flamers who are running rampant over there, absolutely everyone involved in the recent "heated discussions" here is an absolute saint.

At least people in the IE community actually care about their community and just tend to differ over the policies of its various messageboards; over there, large numbers of people seem to be actively trying to destroy every part of that game's community which doesn't directly involve themselves and their cronies.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the IE community is actually pretty great place to be involved with; even the arguments here are normally over issues which are actually important, and usually don't get all that personal or obnoxious... and believe me, some stuff I've just been called and accused of isn't even worth repeating, and would certainly be worthy of permanent bans here (not over there though, apparently). My opinion of several people here has just improved in a matter of hours through no action of their own - I love you guys :).

A very generous camelid went ahead and fixed them all up. However, if anybody would like them changed, you can still send them my way.

By "fixed, " JC means I simply deleted the "Hosted at Forgotten Wars" frames, except in the case of Hubelpot. I went ahead and did a Spellhold Studios replacement frame for that one because of the ad layout.

I'm content for the artists to shriek at me over my editing. I don't want to kill these pointers to Studios mods indefinitely, nor do I want to persist hawking an old forum identity when you are establishing a new one. I think this is the best measure until interested modders arrange for ad replacements.

Had a quick flick through but couldn't find a mention of this...Umm the Print topic page is... errr ... Unreadable. Okay maybe I just print out more than most but it does kinda make life difficult, black type on black background

You're right that the displayed version is basically illegible, but based on the Print Preview I did of the ensuing page, between the browser and the printer it goes back to black text on white (empty paper) background.

Sounds logical to me. Dead misinformed banners is just as bad as dead links.

That is reassuring. :D

Man oh man, it looks like it's time for me to catch up on this here scene. I've been doing so for the better part of the day and I'm still finding mods 'n' developments 'n' stuff I hadn't known about.

This may be a bit late but I'm definitely staying with you guys. You moved, I received the email, and I'm still mostly observing. I don't post much because I have so much yet to read and learn from such Forgotten Realms masters. That is how I feel about you guys. And I think this is better than any other half-baked wannabe cheap immitation spilling similar information onto the web.

Carry on!

Grow up.

how come you always look so damn cool in every photo I see you in?!?

Speaking of modding, I listened to IER 3 yesterday, so you can have another quote for your signature: how come you sound so damn cool, as well as look it? It's unfair. Seriously.

Making a joke about spam e-mail is trolling? Please, you might not get the reference, but let's try to get past the knee-jerk assumptions that everything is an insult.

Oh..... It was a private joke right? Without any smileys and not being on the inside and knowing the joke, it just looks like a repeat of we saw so often on FW. Shame on us uninitiated for bringing anyones motives into question. :)

Speaking of knee-jerk reactions, I wonder why someone should be so defensive when said person was not currently involved. Oh well, as they say "if the shoe fits." :naughty:
