As for me AR4300 has some broken with ambient sound....there is a place where u can hear waterfall but when u are closing to it with team or even "shift" the screen to that zone game crashes...I would appreciate if anyone else check this problem...the map is west of Nashkel Mines (to the left) and crashing zone is on right lower quarter of map.
If have any other map problems post it also here.

Got no problems with that map(the one with waterfall, girl and dead cat i assume). No crashes. WIll check once again a bit later.

No-it is the map before the one u are talking...I mean the map with Ogre Mage in child body seeking dog, Sendai Amnish soldier group...and old man looking candle (from NTotSC quest)

i dont have NTotSC installed, but on that map i also had no errors. Generally the only map i have errors(from time to time) is beregost. Particulary Jovial Juggler Inn entrance.

Yes...I had it also when entering Jovial Juggler Inn...but at the Inn game exited to windows and displayed error...and at the AR4300 just music collapse and the game is totally crashed...cannot exit to windows/kill process or anything else...only manual hardware reset helps :/ ...If u do not have DSotSC/NTotSC it is possible that u would not receive that error because particular DSNTotSC patch change this area and few others.

I am thinking pretty much all BG1 map crashes are due to DSotSC and NTotSC because I went through every single one during testing and there were absolutely not problems, except ones where you get WeiDu.exe exception errors during TIS extraction (in which they don't load). Please direct such queries in the NTotSC/DSotSC forum for SBB to handle.

I have problems with Soa maps. I can't travel to the graveyard district, the game crashes loading (at the start, the loading screen appears, but it crashes before the yellow circle starts to fill. (when it's completely empty))

It's not an area problem, because I succefully used the "CluaConsole" to get there.


It's a worldmap issue because when I uninstalled the worldmap (and deleted it from my save) I could succefully get there with the old worldmap.

It is safe to play the rest of the game with the old worldmap????

The only thing I see that could be nasty is that I installed baldurdash in the middle, not the firs thing I installed. but that shouldn't be, right?

Your problem is...that Tactics isn't really compatible with BGT -_-
Also the Yacomo worldmap is being prepared to BGTweidu version...because as for now it has some BGT-WeiDU incompatibilities (i.e. DSC001 to DSC002 entrance ...and propably the entrance to Graveyard as u told...however I have to check it out myself)
EDIT-ok..checked...it works fine
I have to tell ya...u messed ur game totally...
Tactics shouldn't be installed at BGT modded game
G3Tweaks:
-no worldmap tweaks as they may mess with game
-few other componnents that SHOULDN'T be installed together with BGT and/or Yacomo's worldmap
First: unninstal Tactics and check the game...if still crashes...unninstal G3Tweaks and check the game...

Do NOT install any map tweaks. They are for the original SoA map only. They will not work with the BGT map and they will not work with the Yacomo worldmap. :new_bottom:

Interesting that the area, AR4300, is crashing. I suspect it is because this area is biffed by BGT-Weidu. When an area is biffed, all files associated to that area normally need to be biffed as well. If the ARE file is now in the override, there is a chance that the game cannot find the ambients for that area. I still don't understand why only ambients. The game finds CRE, BAM and other files for the area just fine. Anyway, what you need to do is extract the ambients and put them in your override folder. If the area stops crashing, you have solved the problem and I will need to place those ambients into the next NTotSC patch.

By the way, the area loads fine and I moved around on it, but I didn't go up near the waterfalls which should be the region that is crashing for you. This area is also used by DSotSC as DSC001. Can you try to move around that area in the same location that crashes? I would expect it to also have problems since they use the same ambients. If it doesn't crash, there may be another problem to look at instead.

Yes...Hmmm...the dsc001 is also crashing in some zone (IMO waterfall sound). The problem is in center of that sound-if u're closing to waterfall just sound vloume is increasing-but in some moment the game crashes...it is not so annoying because I can just move "around" crashing zone...also can unpack those ambients and paste it into override. Thx for all info!

You should try to use only those old savegames you made before entering Athkatla 'coz svagames contain all visited AREs. And I recommend you to drop Ascension mod as well - it's incompatible with anything, just to itself.

I found it!!!!!

It's ascension!!! Finally!!! Thank you for all your help!!!

So be warned: Ascension+bgtweidu+worldmap= Map fucked up in soa.

I guess what is left to be found is if it's a bgt issue, or it's an incompability between ascension and the bgt-worldmap (right?).

I suggest you go back into the install instruccions post in this forum and warn everyone.

Having the same problems with 4300, originally crossed it just fine, but then started to CTD when got near water. Read that ambients sometimes cause problems, so deleted->no change. After deleting everything else(almost)-tried the overlays. wtstr.tis was the troublemaker.

About Ascension-I HAVE IT AND IT DIDN'T MAKE ANY PROBLEMS...I can jump around some areas...I can walk through any area...I can travel to any area and it didn't crash me any single time.

Hmm, well...this is becoming as a difficult as a commercial game, although you can't blame hardware configuration. Could it have been the order you installed everything in?

No, but I used DLTCEP and deleted the NTOTSC travel trigger and kept Ordol from spawning. Everything else in that area was used in BG1. The problem only happened when I got close to the water, right before it came on screen.

...and scoured the map, but I did not experience anything. If WTSTR.TIS is causing the problem, then that is very interesting because that file is used in BG2. Can you try removing things like Graphics Acceleration and tinkering with the graphics settings in BGConfig and see if you still get that error?
