Hi,

I have a big request. I wanna use a Sharwyn Voice Set from Neverwinter Nights in my mod, but I do not own original english-language version of that game.

I would be very happy if someone could extract and send them to me.

Cheers. :ermm:

Well I do own the english version of the game, but I have absolutely no idea how to extract a voice set from NWN. I'll look into it a bit, but it'll take some time

Thanks!

You have to use a programme called NWN Viewer.

This tool allow you to extract files from the game.

You could use Near Infinity to export the files. Simply
1) Have Java on your machine (If not get it here)
2) Open up Near Infinity
3) Locate either the chitin.key (for original Neverwinter Nights voice set) or the xp2.key (for the Hordes of the Underdark voice set) in your Neverwinter Nights directory.
4) Double click on the key to open up a list of extractable files and folders.
5) Locate the WAV folder all the way near the bottom.
6) Double click the folder icon to open up a list of sound files.

7) The Sharwyn voice set files should be named
For Neverwinter Nights: vs_favhen2f_***
For Hordes of the Underdark: vs_nx2sharf_***

where the *** denotes the type of sound that's played. The numbered files are conversation files and shouldn't be needed for a voice set. The rest are voice set files.

8) Extract as either WAV or MP3.

I couldn't attach, so I used a bit of space. Apparantly, the server didn't like it and I'm stuck with an extra post. If someone would delete it, it would be greatly appriciated.

What's the name of the mod then and in what category does it fit?

I believe that would be the Polish Enhanced SoA linked in Laguna's signature. :P

Be extremely careful about using anything from Neverwinter Nights and its progeny, they're tainted with "all things that suck."

Very funny.

Yeah, but Sharwyn's voice fits perfect in BG2 style. ^_^
