Sir Billybob you have created an amazing adventure and you are deservedly congratulated. I have played the BG, BGII and Thorne of Bhaal with a goal of playing through without the main character dying ie I do not allow myself to reload a saved game if my character dies or makes any kind of mistake(!), instead I suffer the consequences of my characters actions.

I have found your adventure to be very good but in Chapter 1 NPC's keep being killed and without being able to raise them fron the dead I end up being outnumber, outgunned and eventually killed.

What was the reason fro no character able to be raised from the dead in Chapter 1?

Thanks

You normally can't raise anyone in Chapter 1 of BGT/Tutu either so I am not sure what you are talking about. You need a temple to do that and the closest one is in Saltmarsh.

I think part of the problem here is that BG1 spoils everyone into thinking that the world has priests on every street corner who has the power to raise the dead. At what level does your cleric have to be to do this? So why are there that many high level priests running around the Sword Coast?

The plot and storyline of Chapter 1 is that your little village doesn't have any medicine. There is a druid in the cave (you did meet him right?) who can heal you with basic healing. The mayor sends you off to go get some magic items that can cure several sick people in town (did you talk to Colette?).

Chapter 1 will be difficult but not impossible. Believe me, I have run through it many times. Change your fighting tactics. You will die many times I'm sure. Once you know when to draw out enemies and when to run, you will find the citadel to be less difficult (it will never be easy).

If it seems really impossible, post a message here asking for help. Just remember to add Spoiler to the title so others are aware of your questions.

Last thing, I did not make this mod so that you could solo through it. I think if you try, you are going to have to cheat. My smallest party was 3 characters and it was brutal on me trying it.

Can't the druid ressurrect? Why isn't Derbert proficient with any sword?

The druid doesn't have a full "temple store" like you see in the BG games. He will cast cure light wounds on each person to heal them. That is it. The guy is only level 5 or 6.

Dirbert is an archer. Like any ranger, they don't get very many proficiency slots at start. I usually give him one point into long swords when he levels up.

I take it from some of these questions that you all have not played BGT or Tutu? Or else you have forgotten how hard life is for a level 1 player? SoA spoils you on this because you start out with level 3 spells and enough proficiency points to use most weapons. BG1/BGT/Tutu start you back at level 1 and only having 1 spell or 1 weapon proficiency does make you have to rethink your battle strategies.

I have played through a few times and I found it is possible with a smaller party. If you don?t rush head first into combat. I used a priest, Shadow and Dirbert. Dirbert is a ranged attacker; he is also a heavy hitter. Shadow is very good a sneaking up on an enemy and backstabbing, the priest could heal and double up as a fighter. Commando tactics work well.

Druids generally do not ressurect - death is a part of life etc. :)
