This saddens me.

Hlid, without your encouragement and advice, I would have never considered that I could make mods, patches etc...

They never would have been released, finished, completed, possible, etc... without you answering my assload of questions (not to mention you helping clean up my code more then once).

TeamBG intimidated me. I woudl ask questions in my noobish days (I still am one when it comes to modding), I would get attacked with ONG IT CANNT B DON!!11!11!1!!! All except for one person, you would always be nice, and tell me what could be done, and encourage me to try it on my own.

I used to make excuses about bot having the time or drive to mod, with work and my lady, and you reminded me that if you pace yourself and work in bits, you can do both.

This day is a loss not only for the entire modding community, but for the lifespan of the BG Series.

To say your talents will be missed is a gross understatement. - I do respect and understand why you are stepping away, and I am just happy to hear you will be around on the boards somewhat.

Remember to visit Oklahoma sometime. I was serious about those ales I promised you.

Uh oh, what's this? :(

Sad, but understandable. All the best to you Hlid, whatever you decide to do in your spare time from now on B)

Glad to hear you'll still be hanging around for a chat and an ale or too, that's good enough for me. :)

Hlid, we may not have come across with eachother much, but I know you were/are one of the big ones. That it may fare you well and have one me

Still modding the Mod for the Wicked... It is a big project you know... And I got sidetracked (several times) a bit... sorry.

I'm coming a little late to this, but I'd just like to add my voice to the throng. You were the one that got me off my butt and started in modding, even though we only saw one another now and again (Ah, the old TBG days).

Good luck with everything and hope to see you still hanging about!

Ah, Hlid. *hugs*. Haven't crossed paths with you as much as I'd have liked to, my friend, but I'm sure I'm not the only one in awe of all the work you've done in modding, including the behind-the-scene stuff. :) . Good luck in everything, and look forward to seeing you drop by. :)

Having a disturbingly full RL (partner, 5 kids, fulltime work) I am a very slow gamer and pop in fairly infrequently. (I guess this is obvious given how long it took for me to see this posting) Until life got too busy, I was the DM for a group of PnP AD&D gamers and BGII has helped to "fill the gap". Very early on I discovered TDD and over the years I have been dropping in to whatever forums were current at the time, picking up more mods, getting info on compatibibility and sometimes having to get help with either a bug or problems created by my multiple install. From back when I first started playing just SoA with TDD, I have had help from you both in information you have made available to the general community and in answers to questions I have asked. At least once you have saved me from having to reinstall. (I have tried to avoid reinstalling as much as poss - there are 5 of us who play nowadays and as I said earlier, I am slow. Other than when something has gone wrong, reinstalls have been reserved for a TDD patch, TDD becoming ToB compatible, to add in a collection of other mods - esp Solaufein! and for BP. So for me this was a major.) Your contributions in the community over those 6 years has added greatly to my enjoyment of the game and my knowledge. (I have learnt to fix some of the problems in my own game and finally to put them into a weidu installer when I got sick of having to fix them for each computer and install). There must be alot of people like me out there who just pop in for mods and/or to ask a question then are not heard from again for several months and I just wanted to let you know, that if my family are anything to go by, there are probably alot of quiet players out there who have been very appreciative of your time and efforts.
