As far as many people around are asking about translation of the big mods I think it's time to make them multilingual finally.

To make a translation to another language it's necessary to download the corresponding package, to translate every single string in every .TRA file (strictly preserving strings numbers like @1 and filenames) and to post the result somewhere, so I'd be able to get it and incorporate into the mod.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Currently available packages :

TS-BP v6.10: ----------> TS-BP-Trans.rar
SoS-WeiDU v1.12: ------> SoS-Trans.rar
TDD-WeiDU v1.12: ------> TDD-Trans.rar
CtB v1.9: -------------> CtB-Trans.rar
BP (last): ------------> (look inside downloaded package)
RoT v2.1: -------------> RoT-Trans.rar

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Complete translations :

TS-BP v6.10: ----------> [RUSSIAN(aerie-ru.info team), SPANISH(SirLancelot), GERMAN(Leonardo Watson)]
SoS-WeiDU v1.12: ------> [RUSSIAN(aerie-ru.info team), GERMAN(Leonardo Watson), SPANISH(SirLancelot)]
TDD-WeiDU v1.12: ------> [RUSSIAN(aerie-ru.info team), POLISH, GERMAN(Leonardo Watson)]
CtB v1.9: -------------> [RUSSIAN(aerie-ru.info team)]
BP : ------------------> []
RoT v2.1: -------------> [RUSSIAN(aerie-ru.info team), GERMAN(Leonardo Watson)]

They will be included in the next mod versions upon their release. Plz be patient...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Plz, if you are starting to work on some translation, post a note here what language are you working on to synchronize possible multiple efforts.

You can add BP-weidu to the list of mods ready to translate; all the files are included in the BP-weidu package.

(Forgot to mention this here, earlier) :doh:

The d'Oghmatiques (french team of translators) are working since many months on CTB. It is in progress ;) (permission asked to C. Bisson before it was included in BP)

Hello Horred, hello SirLancelot, hello everybody !
Salut Ashramyr,

Yeah I'm still alive ! :D About french translations, we're still on BP, SoS and TS. Around 1000 / 8000 strings are translated : we're proofreading these strings and besides, maybe we're going to use the SirLancelot's method to integrate translations on BP.
I made an analysis of strings of TS and SoS with a test in game.

Good luck for CTB, Ashramyr :)

I'll take over the TDD translation in French, starting from the TLK translation I made. After a talk with Sir Lancelot, I'm confident there is a way to avoid a huge copy-paste task.

Graoumf, j'en ai parlé avec Ashramyr. Je te contacte à ce sujet et au sujet de BP.

Mais cette rapport n'ai pas pour moi, je te comprende. :P

(Though I may be rusty--haven't used it much in >20 years :rolleyes:)

It appears BPv177 will have a few translations. Can't wait to learn all of the Wand of Orcus strings in multiple languages. :D

BPv177 will have a German translation, at least; by Leonardo Watson. Thanks for the hard work, Leonardo! :cheers:

Perhaps the other translations will be done by the next version. :unsure:

Is there some changes in tra files between BPv177 and BPv176 ?
I can't check its myself because it's impossible to extract the .rar (something's corrupt...)

Edit : Ah it's ok after a new download !

Hello Teutomatos,

French translators for BP are independant from La couronne de cuivre forum. We're working by e-mails and this translation is still in progress. All the strings about Tactics, Ascension and those of the original game have been replaced in .tra files, after a huge proofreading and an adaptation for a female PC.

If you want to help us, you're welcome. Contact me by mp if it's the case :) .

Hello,

I've got some problems to understand some expressions. Could you explain its to me, please ?
Here they are :

@8 = ~Me ass is grass, mates!~
@9 = ~Casing a sneak, jerky?~
@10 = ~Well,I'll be a monkey's uncle...~
@18 = ~Bootstrap me croney, ye gutter scum?~

@21 = ~Hold still now...~
@4 = ~Blimey! I'm heading for Baldur Jones' Lockbox!~

@3 = ~Hissss--sneaky, for cattle...~ (Bodhi's speaking)

Thanks for the help !

Hello,

I've got some problems to understand some expressions. Could you explain its to me, please ?
Here they are :

@8 = ~Me ass is grass, mates!~ An acknowledment that you aren't going to survive an encounter.
@9 = ~Casing a sneak, jerky?~ Thief is asking another if they are checking out a place they plan on breaking into at a more opportune time.
@10 = ~Well,I'll be a monkey's uncle...~ An expression of surprise about something. The person was really taken unawares.
@18 = ~Bootstrap me croney, ye gutter scum?~

@21 = ~Hold still now...~ Don't fight or struggle, it'll make killing you a lot easier on everyone,,,
@4 = ~Blimey! I'm heading for Baldur Jones' Lockbox!~ Crap!! Our ship is sinking and we're going to drown.

@3 = ~Hissss--sneaky, for cattle...~ (Bodhi's speaking) A sarcastic interpretation of a party's stealth ability. Bodhi is commenting on how a herd of cattle could be quieter.

Thanks for the help !
