By user request, I have decided to make this unoffical modification for NeJ2 available. Vlad is aware of its existence, but is in no way responsible for it.

This means if you choose to use it, and something goes wrong...don't bother him with it. Bother me instead.

BE CERTAIN to read the ReadMe file, for both installation/uninstallation procedures for NeJ2, when using the biffing component.
Deviate at your own risk....(You WILL CRASH and BURN!!! )

DO NOT try to run this as an "after-install" fixpack. It is not intended for this, the readme should make this clear.....
(You WILL CRASH and BURN!!! )

I highly recommend this addon if you plan on installing any "mega-modification" mods on top of NeJ2. The "mega mods" biffing components are not set up to handle such an immense override folder. This component is...

This should cause no issues with NeJ2-BGT-weiduv100 (officially-supported mod lineup) compatability, and might actually help it out (if you experience any lag, from the HUGE override install).

And enjoy!

Horred,
I have a question and if it is fixed sorry for barking up the wrong tree.
I had NEJ, BGT install before your biffer came out and I ran into this problem again that when you get to Easthaven and Hrothgar joins the game freezes. This is because of spells SPCL242 and SPCL221 that are in the overrride. Once they are removed one can continue with no problem. So what I am asking is if these files do not get corrected or removed before NEJ is biff then there is the potential for the game to freeze. So if this happens can a fix be made for the problem since the files that need to be removed are biffed?
These files are removed in the 602 patch by a fix.bat file sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. So since your biff runs before the patch the patch can not delete them or does your autobiffer already delete them so this is a mute issue?

BP-weidu itself takes care of all innate spell/scripting issues. It reduces their spell level to 1.

I forgot to package it with the rest, sorry. It should be in your game folder (Black Isle/BGII - SoA by default).

Horred, while running the NEJ2 Autobiffer I always get the following errors which never occured when setting up NEJ2 stand-alone. As follows:

In the "Continuous Custom Imoen" component I get

Any thoughts on how to resolve or do these warnings really matter?

Thanks for all the OT you've been putting in. This is going to be awesome with the kinks worked out!!!

GT, I believe the auto-biffer deletes them, as long as I wasn't hallucinating while I was watching the biffing process for the umpteenth time,,, :P

Horred,
Just something else that some might think that they get an install error after uninstalling and then reinstalling. How it does this I don't know, but if you use the NOCD patch with NEJ and then uninstall via the autobiff it also reverts the game back to requiring a CD when you begin. You get this "media removed, please insert Baldur's Gate CD1". Solution just patch the game again all is fine.

erebusant,
If I understand the biffer correctly why you don't see them is because they are now biffed, thus they are now in the biffed file and still incorrect, but in the end once you install BP_WEIDU if corrects them regardless
so by Horred's reply it is a mute issue.

Horred, I think I may have just come across a problem with using the NEJ2 Auto-Biffer. :crying: I discovered after finally getting everything to install properly, that when I started a new game, regardless of whether or not I used an imported character, or a new one, when I would go to Easthaven and got the quest from Hrothgar to locate the missing caravan, when I tried to leave the area at the SE corner to go to the Orc Cave the game would autosave as normal, and then hang on the load screen, requiring Ctrl-alt-del to get out of it.

Thus I de-installed everything step by step all the way back to just the biffed NEJ2 and continued to get the same hang. I then uninstalled NEJ2, and restored my override directory, and dialogue.tlk and re-installed NEJ2 with the auto-biffer. The same thing occured, hanging between Easthaven and the Orc Cave. So I de-installed NEJ2 again, and re-installed after restoring the overide directory and dialogue.tlk again using just NEJ2.exe and now I can transit between areas with no problem.

It takes a village...

Horred I can confirm this I have NEJ, NEJpatch, BGT, NEJBGT Compat and worldmap. It does freeze when you leave the map to go to the cave.

yep, i can confirm this one too. just do a

CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("Caravan_Quest","GLOBAL",3)

and report back to hrothgar. you'll miss a small amount of XP - no issue at all in the context of NEJ - and you'll miss out on Dar - but you can still use Acalia for yr cleric duties - but everything else will work normally.

Is this happening without the biffer and BP, or only with it?

Perhaps a tileset is being missed, or isn't converted properly. Strange, though. I actually played through this myself, without incident--using the NeJ2Biffer.

I'll check my install as well, and let you know what I see.

EDIT: Sure enough, TT1200 and TT1201 TIS files are not mentioned in the biffing batch file. They were there once before. Sorry; here is a fixed one:
Attached File  BP_NeJAreasSounds.zip   4.17K   199 downloads

I'll make a new full package at the same time I put together BPv176. This will happen within the next 48 hours (most likely just the fixes, no new content--RL issue (a good one :D) came up).

Would it cause problems to, if I unpack the files and put them into the biff manually using Near Infinity, to avoid the need to reinstall from the beginning?

If you know how to use tisunpack, sure. use -h for tis going into biffs (no header), and skip it for biff's into override. The two are's you need are TT1200 and TT1201.

For those who are a little shaky on this, put the following code into a batch file, and run it:

tisunpack -s -o override\TT1200.tis NeJ\tiz\TT1200.tiz
tisunpack -s -o override\TT1201.tis NeJ\tiz\TT1201.tiz

This will just put the two TIS files into your override folder.

Or, if you haven't installed or were planning reinstall: just wait for the new versions tomorrow. ;)

I removed the 2 file 'SPCL242 and SPCL221' from the override folder and still get CTD. :( When I Crtl+Q him the game CTD.

NeJ2 plus are install

~SETUP-NEJ2V602.TP2~ #0 #0 // Never Ending Journey v6.02 (cummulative patch)
~SETUP-NEJ2V602.TP2~ #0 #2 // Animations Compatibility Fix for "Tortured Souls"

are install.

I got it to work by editing the moonknight kit, renameing spcl242 to spcl241
