I've finally got a copy of BG2 again; its been a very long time. ERM was still in beta when I stopped playing BG2! Yikes.

I've been going through SOA farily quickly and have JUST stepped off the ship in Brynnlaw. Immediately after arrival, Degardan appeared for the first time.

Reading the Degardan mini-FAQ stickied above, it seems that there's something Edwin's supposed to do prior to leaving for Spellhold. Did I screw something up terribly by not waiting for this?

I know Laufey's quite busy, so if anyone else has had a similar experience and a successful romance, please do tell! Thanks.

Yyyeah. You kind of screwed it up. I have heard, though, that people go to Brynnlaw and Spellhold before the Edwins-big-quest and the last SoA lovetalk, but I'm not so sure if that'll work now. So basically Degardan will spawn again, and will he spawn in the Asylum, for example? I'm not sure. Second, after the Asylum you'll be in the.. whatsitcalled.. the fish city :D and/or Underdark for a pretty long time and that's where the bigger problem could be. You see, some time after Degardan's second appearance things start to rumble and you'll meet another person - and that'll be in Athkatla.

As I don't recommend going through the Asylum and Underdark really really fast because it's lame and the athmosphere is GONE, I'd recommend that you took an older save. I'm sure you'll find something to do while waiting for Degardan's two appearances and then for the-next-guy-to-appear. :P

And, just out of curiosity, my dear, what *are* you wearing? :D - Tempest to me.

Ah, thank you very much. That's exactly what I was wondering. I guess I'll go for the older save option.

Hmmm...I ALWAYS go to Brynlaw and have Degarden appear for the first time as soon as I set foot off the ship. I never have a problem. I do the Underdark, sometimes Sahauguin City, and as soon as I leave the Underdark I get the "lock of hair" talk and Degarden appears for the 2nd time and everything is cool. I've never had a problem. Am I just lucky? I've done this several times at least. Unless you all mean that you have done all the SOA stuff before the Underdark. I usually do all the Athkatla stuff and Umar Hills, and save the rest for when I return from the Underdark. The Romance runs quite smoothly for me, plus I get the "pink squirrel" dialog between Immy and Eddie.

Yeah, that's what I meant that I had heard some people going to Brynnlaw etc before finishing the Edwin business. I've never done that because Laufey & co have told us to wait until both of Edwin's quests (Nether Scroll and the other one (don't want to spoil)) are over. And I always also handle all other possible quests before going to Brynnlaw, so I wouldn't have anything to do after coming back and waiting for Edwin's quests to trigger. :D

There were some problems before with going to Brynnlaw before Edwin's quest, but I think it should be fixed now, so that the only occasion when you can't go is if the quest has already started. Not being able to go *before* the quest had started was a bug. :)

Oh, okay! Thank you very much.

Edit: Am I missing any LTs by doing Spellhold with Edwina? Charname got dizzy, transformed into the Slayer, etc., and nada from Edwina. This is my original game, when Degardan appeared right after arriving at Brynnlaw.

The Slayer lovetalk I think won't happen if Edwin is Edwina, but that's the only Spellhold specific one. You should be getting the Edwina lovetalks as normal though.

This reminded me - are you going to pay attention to this with the flirt pack? I believe there was atleast some talk about the Ust'Natha lust chambers. Will that work with Edwina too (I doubt it :D) or will they be ignored if Edwin isn't back as himself already?

Oooh, new info. Question - are some of the love talks just dependent on which Chapter you're in? So would it technically be possible to return to Athkatla and mess around a bit and STILL, say, get to meet Dekaras (if maybe not the Nether Scroll), etc, before going all RAR BODHI RAAAAR?
[ack, sorry if I'm being noobish, been a little while since I played...]

Oh, YOU. XD I think it'd be really cool to if Edwina did react in the chambers. After all, she was relatively, eh, nice to Salvanas. :D

Ah, that's too bad! Oh well...just another excuse to play through the game with Eddie. :)

The lust chambers flirts will only be available if the romance has progressed to '2' stage, so no, they won't be available if he's Edwina.

This doesn't really relate to the orignal question, but it's better than starting a new thread:

How long is the timer for Terl? Charname and Co. left the Underdark, Edwina asked for a piece of Charname's hair, and the last ER-related item was the little makeout session. :D Maybe five in-game days have passed since then.

I'm now at 53+ in-game days, and at least fifteen in-game days since the Underdark exit and Degardan's second appearence. Eddie and Charname have had a number of LTs, and even consumated their true lurve in the middle of the prommenade (I swear, if I had know that LT was about to happen, I would have gone to an inn)! I've rested over and over in inns, outside, outside of the city...

BUT STILL NO TERL. There truly aren't any more quests to do. In an old post, there was a brief mention of a "dekkieletter" variable...but I see no such thing in Shadow Keeper. Am I just being horrifically impatient? Heeeeeeeeelp!

1:30AM is a very bad time to become stuck in such a fantastic mod.
