Hello !

I just wanted to ask if it is possible or humbly suggest that you convene with Horred-the-plague, the guy who just now tries to make SOA,TOB,TDD,SOS,TS into one big uber-mod. It would be simply wonderful if you agree that your superb mod could also be included in this Big Picture mod. He posts regularly on the www.teambg.net/forum in the tortured souls subsection.

Please !!!!

In the thread Return to Windspear it is stated that this mod will be in Weidui format. This means it should be compatible with all the other mods out there. Of course if I'm wrong, someone please correct me on this.

Due to the way this mod will be packaged, we do not need to be included in such an endeavour.

Euhm it is not that easy as you yourselve envision.

Weidu has/had the nasty habit of not completely deleting every stringreference it put in and sometimes it strangled the bigger ones. That is mainly the reason why Horred had to do some minor changes to some files in a weidu package.

But if you guys aide in it, in stead of the normal timeframe that it will take, it takes only a slight fracture of it. Besides , who better then the develloper could now every tiny detail that should be in ;)

So please, consider this request and at least confer with horred ;), to see his thoughts about it.

PS: sorry for my lack of a technological explination, I'm kinda out of the devellopment of BP due to my final yearpiece, haven't been following it for nearly 3-4 months. So some of my points could be rather outdated ;)

Just to clarify a bit... we do not have the time nor the inclination to include our mod in other peoples work. RTW has over 200 unique files and there is really no need. The only compatibility problem I foresee is with a few of the .2da's and .ids' that get ammended... but anyone willing to play with TDD also is free to manually add our ammends.

Also, RTW is designed for balanced play and has only Ascension in mind for compatibility... not so much for the hard battles, but for the extra story line of Ascension:) People playing RTW with custom items or unbalanced NPC's will probably brag about it being too easy... with the exception of the dialog choices which are where even a hacked character can go tragically wrong.

So, to sum up, if you play a legal character with items only found in the original game.... you will have quite a challenge on your hands with RTW. We are hoping it will be received as a true role-playing experience and NOT a hack-n-slash mod:) The two bosses (main and side quest) are totally optional fights... unless you screw up in your choices... and they WILL be challenging or worse, for those that want that sort of thing.

WeiDU doesn't delete strings from dialog(f).tlk ever because it is basically never necessary to do so. Horred may be many things, but a credible source on WeiDU development methods he is not.

I never said he was a credible source on it, but he did encounter some problems of weidu shredding his dialog file due to the insane biggness of the dialog file.

Cuv, I was just hoping, if horred would like to make all those mods compatible with each other, because that is exactly what BP does, nothing more nothing less, except for some custom scripts and some easter eggs that he put in.

Don't get me wrong, if you don't want to invest some of your time in it, that is your choice not ours, but it would just make horreds insane job easier and at the same time would make sure that the essence in your mod would stay. Because you are the person who knows best how you would like to incorperate it.

Besides, it was just something to let you think upon, nothing more nothing less. Because it will be impossible to incorperate every single mod. But I love paladins, and I really wouldn't say no against another paladinrelated queste ;)

Well then... tell you what I will do when I have time: I will send him a list of all the 2da's and ids that we alter and what the entries will be Kinda hard to do it at the moment because we are adding new things all the time. How's that?

You would be a lifesaver if you did that, when your mod is as good as complete that is ;). This way you and he won't have that much extra work

In any case, I'm very gratefull of the effort your willing to do.
