The biggest hard drive I have is 12.8gb, not sure that's going to be enough.

In the Mega Installation, how much disk space is required to install everything?

My BGII-SoA directory is about 11 gb. You might want to consider a larger hard drive,,,

Would that I could, my friend. Looks like I'll either have to wait until I can get a bigger drive, or do a somewhat minimalist install.

The nice thing about hard drives is you can get a >200 GB drive now for about $75-80.

however, they take considerably more than this to install - over 10GB from memory - which i do at work on my work PC, then remove all the backup folders (cos i'm sure it's going to work ) andf burn the result to a dual-layer DVD.
so with a 12GB HDD, the problem you'll have is with the space it takes to install - but as long as you pause between each step and delete yr backups and duplicated folders (ie, yr BG1 install after BGT is finished) you'll be able to fit a fairly large BP+BGT+A_whole_heap_of_other_stuff. you do have to beware, tho, that if you start deleting backup folders as i've advised, you can't uninstall or re-install anything: so if you make a mistake, you have to do a completely fresh installation.
the best solution is a variant of the one i use: find a friend with a large HDD; give them some beer, spend 6 or so hours installing everything you want, delete all the backups once you've tested it works, burn the results to one or more DVDs, and copy to the machine you wish to play on. and as a bonus, you've got a backed up DVD of a working install! and you've drunk some beer!
