Um, “cefc1inv.BAM” has one sequence (Sequence 0) in which there are four frames (Frame 0, Frame 0, Frame 1, Frame 1).

I don't know in which tool you're seeing this, but I see nothing of the sort in DLTCEP. I see one sequence with two frames (0 and 1). I'm not even sure it's possible to have frames with the same number in the same sequence.

BAMs can be less jaggy, but without alpha channel blending, you get the jaggy effect at the edges, where it's noticed most.

You can remedy this somewhat by smoothing or anti-aliasing the edge with the background colour (brown or whatever it is). I've never seen any loss when converting 256-colour bitmaps to BAMs, but maybe that's just me. Might have something to do with following the advice here if you're using BAM Workshop.

Near Infinity and Bam Workshop 2 both show four frames in one sequence. Although I don't use DLTCEP as often as Near Infinity, I used it to open "cefc1inv.bam". On the far right side of the window there is a box called "Cycle properties". Directly under this are the words "Frames in cycle". In its associated scroll / select box, you can choose between four frames "0 0", "1 0", "2 1", and "3 1". The first two are the top half of the figure and the second two are the bottom half.

Weird. Maybe WizWom knows why. As he says, paperdolls are different from inventory BAMs, and I have little experience (none really) with the former.

I looked at it again and something occurred to me?there is a pattern. The first digit is just numbering the frames in the sequence (0-1-2-3) and the second digit is telling which frame is used (Frame 0, Frame 1).

Hi,

I've been browsing the net for an alternative but couldn't find one. So I have to stick with WizWom's converter programs which sadly cause the following error message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library
Debug Assertion failed!
Program: D:\PLT2BMP.exe
File: fopen.c
Line: 53
Expression: file!=NULL

:( Any help?

I'm using WinXP SP3

Downloaded the bmp2plt and plt2bmp, and it does give an error if you execute it without supplying both input and output filename. Ideally if you run a cmd util, it should show help usage or something.

Anyhow this will work (using one of the samples on his site)

plt2bmp mkobinv.plt test.bmp

Alternatively, my PS Gui program provides a GUI interface for WizWom's converters, as well as drag&drop conversion and support for R-Click context menu conversions.

"Ok, I've just about had my FILL of riddle asking, quest assigning, insult throwing, pun hurling, hostage taking, iron mongering, smart-arsed fools, freaks, and felons that continually test my will, mettle, strength, intelligence, and most of all, patience! If you've got a straight answer ANYWHERE in that bent little head of yours, I want to hear it pretty damn quick or I'm going to take a large blunt object roughly the size of Elminster AND his hat, and stuff it lengthwise into a crevice of your being so seldom seen that even the denizens of the nine hells themselves wouldn't touch it with a twenty-foot rusty halberd! Have I MADE myself perfectly CLEAR?!"
