Is this mod compatible with TDD? Because TDD changes .2das, offers new kits/classes. What will happen if I install Rogue Re-balancing mod on top of TDD? Will .2da files conflict?

Thanks in advance!

Well, I've been asked this before but I'm still not entirely sure seeing as how I haven't played TDD (too large download for my poor modem connection). My mod changes several 2DAs including WEAPPROF.2DA and thus problems could abound. I understand that TDD implemented many new kits as well so that might create some conflicts. My mod is compatible with most other WeiDU based mods though

Okay Avenger thanx.

I have a suggestion about rogue balancing but it is a house rule, not core rule.

I don't like thieves go invisible and backstab even in the middle of daylight! Like Promenade. I think u should limit the stealth option. U can use lightmap on every area. Adding a variable aplying extra stealth penalty. Maybe the game already aplies this but I think going invisible should be much hard. Consider Improved Ilyich mod! Thief comes, suprises me, uses a wand of paralyzation, holds me, backstabs me, goes invisble... This is not right. Even mages cannot to this without Staff of Magi and it is an artifact.

I think thieves should go invisble only in dark areas or during night, AWAY from city lights. Besides they should not be allowed to go invisble after first surprise attack. How can a rogue go invisible even in a dimly lit tight corridor during combat? Where he can hide in the middle of fight afterall? Stealth is not a spell like ability and they are not eteral ghosts. Stealth mode is not the ultimate method. It should only aid suprise roll and backstap opportunity. Going invisble just in front of me and BACKSTAB me is just unfair!

I hope IE permits such rebalancing.

:(

Actually, I believe that IE already takes shadows and lighting into account when using the stealth skill, but it seams to be completely hardcoded, so I can not do a thing about it...

I agree. It's rather silly when your thief simply disappears in broad daylight in the middle of a street, but then again this is BG2 we are talking about. In PnP, the streets of a large city wold hardly be so empty and open. A thief could attempt to hide in a crowd of people, or behind corners, objects inside buildings etc. It's even more silly that thieves can get more than 100% chance of success at a particular task. I understand that many situations can incur negative modifiers but come on...220% hide !? BG1 and IWD handled this a bit more elegantly IMHO.

Yes friend! Mostly because there were no so high skilled thieves in BG1. I think BG2 has overloaded hard coded stealth thingy so to speak! And what they have done in ToB? traps which are impossible to disarm and very difficult traps to disarm. Thicker armor bigger war head vicious cycle!

In regards to the inviaibility of theives in daytime, altering their BCS should do the trick.

how come you always look so damn cool in every photo I see you in?!?

Speaking of modding, I listened to IER 3 yesterday, so you can have another quote for your signature: how come you sound so damn cool, as well as look it? It's unfair. Seriously.

Still a cyberjock, still hacking the matrix, still unsure of what that means.

I'm not sure that I understand what you meant by that?

In my experience enemy thieves rarely hide at all, they mostly use invisibility potions. Therefore I don't really see how changing their AI would affect their hide skill. The lightmaps that influence hiding are emended in small BMPs for each map separately IIRC.

Using a potion rather then a skill is feasible in the day time as theives arent front line fighters, it would be in their better interest to do so,

I waqs only thinking that a time sensitive condition could be placed in their AI to time when they do or dont use it.
