I have a suggestion concerning the addition of 3 NPCs. I was thinking about the 3 Dragonlance knights you encounter in the Planarsphere in the slums district.
We don't really know what happened to them. If you played as a mage it was possible to have Ribald send them home, but you just assumed that they went back to their own plane. What if they didn't? What if they stayed in Faerun?
Perhaps this Mod could assume that the Knights stayed, with the possibility of you encountering them again. Only, this time the 3 Knights can join your party.
I know that NPCs aren't really a concern for you right now, but maybe you can consider the idea for a later release.

thanks for your suggestion, however it's unlikely that it'll happen before 2010 (at least).
