11. Use new v12 of BG1 NPC available at G3

16. May cause problems in this install (during initial BG2 cutscene)

28. I have to warn you bgt version of SCS is not yet fully tested and some issues still have to be solved to make it 100% BGT-compatible. It should be considered beta for now. If that doesn't scare you - great, please report any bugs you find in SCS forum.

Perhaps you might want to wait couple days till ronin69hof uploads new updated SCS version, with a few more bugs solved. I'd also recommend to install SoS, TDD and TS-BP after BGT - some dialog changes SCS makes won't work otherwise.

You don't need to worry about the biffing routine, it's part of the 2 versions of DS and NTotSC you're using.

10. You don't need this anymore.

16. Before installing 16 open your FR_ROV\bcs\patch\AR0602.baf, place your cursor just at the end of the word "flail", press enter, then "tab" once, then type in Continue(), then close the AR0602.baf file saving the changes. Freedom's Reign - Reign of Virtue will now install and modify your AR0602.bcs properly and your game won't hang.

It takes a village...

I have followed your advice on changes and I have also decided to wait to install SCS-BGT.

ok, this question is best answered by saying 'click here and read to yr heart's content'; but it's my last day at work today, and i'm killing time waiting for all my data to be backed up, so i'll give some quick explanations:

BP Series v3 - a party AI mod
Freedom?s Reign ? Reign of Virtue v3 - adds items, stores and a couple of encounters to BG2.
MixMod v5 - adds, i think, a store to the game.
One Pixel Productions v2 - reverts the paper dolls back to the original BG1 versions.
Prologue v3 - no idea. i think it restores a cutscene to the start of BGT.
Weimer-ItemUpgrade v34 - allows you to create new, more powerful items from existing items.
Weimer-Underep v5 - adds a store selling a whole range of exotic and nonstandard weapons.
SCS v2BGT - a scripting mod for BGT.
BGT Tweaks v4 - adds a range of optional tweaks to BGT.
DOTweaks v13 - adds a range of optional tweaks to BG2.
BG2 Tweaks v3 - adds a range of optional tweaks to BGT and BG2.
DEFJAM v3 - allows you to reduce the amount of XP you get for killing monsters, removing traps, learning spells, etc.

all of these mods, and more, can be downloaded from

Since this topic is exactly what I'm doing also and since you people are all such a great help I'd like you to take a look at this mega install I've done and see if you can spot anything I may have missed. This is the umpty umpth time I've tried a mega and the first that has successfully completed lol Hopefully there are no glaring incomptabilities that I've missed. I am aware that the Imoen romance portion is suppose to wait until after the final bg1 battle and be installed just prior to going on to bg2 but I'd like to run it this way and take note of any problems for info for the mod's creator to hopefully remedy. I understand they're working on a bgtob version of the romance and any fixes I can note they can hopefully address in that yet to be released version :)

here's my weidu log

SCS v2BGT - a scripting mod for BGT.

all of these mods, and more, can be downloaded from
http://america.iegmc.net

At this moment, SCS is not available at IEGMC. You can visit SCS forum here at Spellhold for more info on the mod and download locations.

And the latest version is v4, not v2.

I understand they're working on a bgtob version of the romance and any fixes I can note they can hopefully address in that yet to be released version :)

cut to reduce the size of the post

Thanks all for your help :)

your install looks ok to me.

Thanks :) I just started playing and so far so good, no unusual areas exposed on the map and the banters all seem to be going normally between Imoen and I in the first area of chapter 2 I'll let you ya'll know if anything unusual crops up :)

ok, this question is best answered by saying 'click here and read to yr heart's content'; but it's my last day at work today, and i'm killing time waiting for all my data to be backed up, so i'll give some quick explanations:

BP Series v3 - a party AI mod
Freedom’s Reign – Reign of Virtue v3 - adds items, stores and a couple of encounters to BG2.
DEFJAM v3 - allows you to reduce the amount of XP you get for killing monsters, removing traps, learning spells, etc.

all of these mods, and more, can be downloaded from

http://america.iegmc.net

Will the itemupgrade, underep, mixmod and freedoms reign interfere with the maga install?

Also, do you recommend using all those tweak packs, or is there a "best" tweak pack that has most of the tweaks that its better to stick with?

I don't know about itemupgrade, underep and mixmod tho I believe Itemupgrade and Underep are ok someone else would have to say for sure.
Freedoms Reign-Reign of Virtue is good I"ve got it installed ^ see log above. The tweak packs each have a slightly different make up and some elements of each are usually desireable that's why there is not really any One that suits all the things that you may want. look thru the readme's on each and decide if there is one that covers your needs as a whole or, like most of us, you find you want some different elements from each then download and install only the one's you want.

Ok found my first problem, I think. If I'm not mistaken there is suppose to be a dwarf in the Friendly Arm Inn ,put there by TGCe1, he isn't appearing. I read somewhere I think, read so many posts lately they're a blur lol, but I think maybe TGCe1 and NTOSC have a confilict because BOTH add to/change the Friendly Arm area? Any ideas folks?

TGC is notorious for overwriting the Friendly Arm area and script, rather than patching them to include its content - so there's no real guarantee it's ever going ot work properly with a mega install. the good news tho, is that if the dwarf isn't there, then there won't be any other TGC-related bugs (because if the dwarf was there, then a whole lot of BGT/NToSC/DTotSC content could be missing). short of editing the requisite files yrself, there's not a hell of a lot you can do about it.

As long as it doesn't mess up my DSotSC I'm not really concerned about it :) I"ve played thru TGCe1 before and know what it's about but I've never completely made it thru DSotSC nor NTotSC due to problems with my previous non BP installs lol My earlier attempts were to put it plainly AWFUL do to my install order :( I think I've got that all worked out tho my order did change from my earlier post since I reinstalled and moved Imoen and Nalia romances up before the flirt pack and added the banter pack in also but I don't see that causing any difficulty. I'm at the Friendly Arm now and heading out. Wish me luck for I may need it ;)

In that case would it be a good idea to install TGC before installing DSOTSC/NTOTSC?

The only thing the latest version of TGCE1 does to your AR6800.bcs is extend_top it. It doesn't overwrite the .are file, it copies an entirely different named .are file into your override directory. I think it's called BW0501.are. The mod doesn't begin until you speak with a General near Ramazith's tower in Baldur's gate, so unless you've been there and done that, the character you're looking for might not be there.

Understood that TGC makes a copy but there is a Dwarven Smith (store) that gets put into the Friendly Arm and is available right from the beginning of the game. That's the Dwarf I'm refering to. I just liked him because he sold a +1 Katana that comes in handy for my main char who is a Male FMT Elf with 2 handed style and Katana only lol The Katana comes in very useful against the vampiric wolves in the temple area ;)

True that, what erebusant wrote - never had trouble with TGCE1. The original-original version overwrote, but Baronius corrected that.

Oldwolf, I got a suspicion you're thinking of a mod made for BG1 called CoM Forge/Upgrade by Magnus. If so, sorry dude - it's designed ONLY for BG1, although you can play it in TuTu.

I wish it did work in BG2 because I loved that smithy.
