I am currently trying to make Inuyasha (the protagonist from Inuyasha, the anime), and I'm having difficulty.

This is my first attempt to make a character, and I'm not doing too good. I can't figure out how to make any of the stuff work (his items or his innate abilities), and I have no idea how to make an NPC.

I am currently putting the most effort into his sword, Tessusaiga, but I can't do anything with it. I gave it a few icon references, a paper doll, proficiency, equipped abilities, but when I put it on my character (he can equip it) nothing works, I can't even see it.

So, does anyone know where an NPC maker is, if one even exists? I really want this to work, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Dan

For NPC creation, you're going to need primarily a creature, script, and dialog editor, none of which IEEP provides. WeiDU is probably a good choice for NPC dialogs, and something like DLTCEP can cater for creature editing, while also providing a dialog editor (or WeiDU interface, alternatively). WeiDU can also compile scripts, and DLTCEP also provides a good front-end for this.
I'd also recommend checking out some of the tutorials at http://tutorials.teambg.net and the FWP tutorials board.

As for your item problem, it's hard to be of assistance unless you are more specific about what you have done.

Ghreyfain has made a basic tutorial on NPC creation, just remember to give him a death variable o dcripting will be a problem!

how come you always look so damn cool in every photo I see you in?!?

Speaking of modding, I listened to IER 3 yesterday, so you can have another quote for your signature: how come you sound so damn cool, as well as look it? It's unfair. Seriously.

Still a cyberjock, still hacking the matrix, still unsure of what that means.

I started on a NPC a while back but it has been put on ice for a while and I probably won't start working on it again for a while.

I started of like this:

- made a character through mutiplayer (non-PC)
- Added Items, set XP etc.
- Exported as .chr
- used Creature maker (Team BG) to convert to .cre
- Used Near Infinity to set death variable, dialog etc. and make custom items
- Then used WeiDU to add it into the game

Making the dialog is probably this most irritating if you don't know how to.

When I have time I will eventually and I mean eventually release her (female, elven, ranger -> archer).

Cheers

Thanks guys! This really is a great community; people help each other so easily.

I will try and make my character, Inuyasha, before I actually begin to work on the items, but I do know what I'll give him. If anyone would be interesting in making any of the following items, I would be very grateful. By the way, I don't have ToB.

Inuyasha's sword: Tetsaiga
Inuyasha's sword, which only he can weild, was given to him by his Youkai father. Although it may appear just to be an old rusty sword, when Inuyasha weilds it, it becomes a very powerful sword.
Stats:
Appearance of Celestial Fury
+6 to damage and attack
+2 to AC
25% chance of decapitation (death)
2d4 fire damage each hit

Inuyasha's kimono:
Inuyasha's kimono is made out of Hi-Nezimu fur. The fabric is incredibly tough (poor katanas break on it, and good ones just bounce) and it's also fire-proof.
Stats:
Apperance of Fire Robe
90% fire resistance
+7 to AC
+3 to slashing and piercing

Nenju Necklace:
This magical necklace was thrown around Inuyasha's neck so that Kagome could give Inuyasha a verbal command to stop him from killing her. The word Kagome chose is 'osuwari' (sit) and will activate no matter how she say the word, even if it's unintentional.
Stats:
Appearance of a normal necklace
+1 to AC
10% magic resistance
+1 to all saves

Sankon Tetsusou:
Inuyasha's Sankon Tetsusou, Soul Shattering Iron Claw, or Youkai ripper.
Stats:
Appearance of a dagger (unless there are claws in BGII).
+3 damage and attack
25% chance of disemboweling (extra 6d6 damage)

Shikon no Tama:
The Shinkon no Tama, or Base of the Soul Jewel. This small jewel greatly increases a Youkai's spiritual power. It is said to be able to turn a half-demon into a demon, if it so chooses (actually, Inuyasha wanted to be a human and live with Kikyo until something bad happened).
Stats:
Although it's a necklace in the T.V. show, he already has a necklace. I was thinking of making it usable as a ring, but having the appearance be a necklace.
Regenerates 1hp per 3secs
+2 AC
+2 to every stat except charisma (it's good)
+2 to damage/attack
+2 to all saves
+25 magic resistance

That's all for the items. If anyone watches Inuyasha (I've only seen 10 episodes) then maybe you could help me with the item descriptions (they really need help). Also, in the T.V. show he has abilities. All of these would be innate abilities.

Bakuryuuha:
An attack where Inuyasha makes himself stronger
Cast Mirror Image, Stone Skin, Aid, Holy Might, Improved Haste, and Chant on Inuyasha for 45 seconds.
Usable once per rest

Hijinkessou:
A non-sword attack when Inuyasha uses his own blood.
35 damage to Inuyasha
85% chance of desintigrating selected enemy
6d10 fire damage
3 times/rest

Kaze no Kizu:
Inuyasha's special sword attack.
Does 6d6 fire damage
Does 6d6 attack damage
once per rest

Sankontessou:
Inuyasha's non-sword regular attack
3 times/rest
Does 3d6 fire damage
Does 3d6 regular damage

The casting time for all will be 0. I guess all abilities could be given by Tetsaiga, and be usable their amounts per day.

As for Inuyasha himself, I am having difficulties. He is a half-demon, and I do not know what their bonuses or abilities are for Baldur's Gate. Anyways, thanks for everybody's time who reads this, and more thanks to anyone who helps me out. Also, I could post some pics of him if I knew how, for the big and little images.

Yeah, I suppose they can be toned down a bit. But you gotta remember, Inuyasha himself is very powerful; so are his items.

I must agree with Dyara and say that these items are far too strong, it will make your NPC invincible.

True, but with being a half-demon he'll already be very powerful. I've played BGII many times, after the second I haven't been able to be killed. My level 17/40 kensai/mage with Sanchuudoku, Celestial Fury +5, Robe of Vecna, Ring of Gaxx, Boots of Speed, Amulet of Power, and Ring of Preservation +2 is also invincible. He casts Time Stop and explodes all my enemies with his swords. Although he doesn't have great HP, when he gets into battle his Sanchuudoku and Ring of Preservation +2 give him great regeneration, not to mention acidic backlash. Also, with Iron Skin and Mirror Image nobody can even hurt him.
I know Inuyasha will be strong, but as a pure kensai using his one sword and his good items, he still won't be nearly as strong as many other characters around. Still, his items could be made weaker, it wouldn't bother me. Even with all the tough stuff on the Tactics Mod I can't be beaten. :D

I wouldn't mind making the items, but firstly where will he get them, will have some when he joins or will he have to fight for some.

I still think the items are too strong.

Ahh, just got back from vacation. Anyways, the Tetsaiga gets stronger as Inuyasha does, so I was originally thinking to do something like that; unfortunately, that's far beyond my skills. He'd start with his kimono, a not-so-good Tetsaiga, and his Sankon Tetsusou. He'd automatically get his Neju Necklace in the storyline somewhere, and his Shikon no Tama would have to be won from a very powerful beast (probably a pumped up demon).

As for his abilities, he'd only start with Sankontessou and Hijinkessou, and get the others as he got stronger (probably the same XP as the Tetsaiga's lvl ups). That's about all; but I need to know what abilities a half-demon gets, so maybe I could give him a few. Also, maybe someday, I could give him a voice.

As the site recommends, use DLTCEP in place of IEEP. If you really desparately want to use IEEP for some reason, I think the only place it can be obtained is on the TeamBG IRC channel.
