28. Oversight-v9 (v8)

do you mean that i need to use v8? where from?

26. D0QuestPack_v23 Just don't install the AI component

yes, but i thought that perhaps the AI component was worth installing introducing improvements

25. scsbgt_v4.2 (Sword Coast Stratagems) Install directly after BGT v1.02

why? are you sure about it - this seems to contradict the sticky:

0. Full BGII SOA+TOB+26498 patch (and BG1+ToTSC+5512 patch or BG Original Saga if installing BGT)
1. BG2 fixpack v1
2. NEJ2v42 + NEJ2v602 patch, and NEJ2 biffer v3 if using BP-weidu (but see *note)
3. SoS v1.11 and/or TDD v1.11 and/or CtB v1.8 and/or Tortured Souls for BP v6.09 and/or Reign of Terror v2.0 - in any order (but note: NEJ2 and CtB have some incompatibilities. be sure you want to install both of these before you go ahead and do so)
4. Baldur's Gate Trilogy v1.02 (read the instructions in readme file before installing) and NeJ2-BGT compat patch if using both NEJ2 and BGT
5. Dark Side of the Sword Coast v1.85
6. Northern Tales of the Sword Coast v1.45
7. Secret of Bonehill v2.05

8. All other mods, except the ones on this list (they should go after Big Picture v177)

9. Big Picture v177
10. BG2 Tweaks v3
11. DEFJAM XP fixer v3
12. BP-BGT Worldmap v6.3

BP-BGT Worldmap can be installed after last mod that modifies worldmap, which in your case is Secret of Bonehill. It's a general rule to install it later, but nothing restricts it to being last.

BP Series is a version of eSeries designed for use with Big Picture.

You need to make up your mind what you want - either QuestPack AI, or BP AI. If you want QuestPack AI, then you need to drop BP from your install order. Installing BP will disable "General AI" component of D0 QuestPack, except maybe for a couple minor scripts. It won't hurt anything if you install it, except SCS will fail to install its own general AI if you attempt to install it after QuestPack's AI. If you install SCS before QuestPack, AND if you use SCS BP-compatibility component, it should work fine.

If we forget about QuestPack and other AI mods, then in theory you can install SCS anywhere after BGT. In practice, I only tested it if installed immediately after BGT. SCS-BGT is a new mod, so its possible there are yet undiscovered conflicts - I encourage you to play and inform us if you find any.

Sorry, but I'm sure I can't get any more clearer. :)

and seeing as how you won't be installing BP before BGT...

I take it back.

QuestPack AI component modifies SIMULACR.SPL in a way which conflicts with SCS Improved Durlag's Tower. These 2 shouldn't be installed together.

hmm, if im not mistaken BP, SCS and Quest Pack all modify AI

i think it's probably better to use only one of them

25. scsbgt_v4.2 (Sword Coast Stratagems) Install directly after BGT v1.02

if was suspcious of this order as i understand SCS adds global changes to the game and i thought it would be better to install it at the end of the list since there are mods after BGT (and so also after SCS)

7. RoTv2.0 (Region of Terror) + RoTv2.01_Fix

8. BGT102-Install v1.02 (Baldur's Gate Trilogy)
the suggested place for SCS

9. DSotSC4BGTWeidu185WM6 (Dark Side of the Sword Coast)
10. NTotSC4BGTWeidu145WM6 (Northern Tales of the Sword Coast)
11. SoBHv205FullWM6 (Secret of Bonehill)

12. Deeper Shadows of Amn
13. Ajoc's Minimod Weidu v1.6

but i'm not an expert here, if you say so, i'll try it

sorry guys, i'm so fussy about these mods because they have so many goodies i wish i could install all of them
as for AI i think i will have to choose one of them - SCS or BP or Quest Pack (probably SCS or BP), but i hope can still use improved adventures from the rest of them... :(

You can use SCS and BP, if you install SCS BP-component (my hands are aching from typing this again)

SCS = BG1 part of the game
BP = BG2 part of the game

i didn't know that, i thought they were more or less generally applied to BG1/2 as a whole

now it's become clear why SCS must go immediately after BGT :)

i've just read the "Mega WeiDU install instructions..."

so this order is 'passe' -

6. Northern Tales of the Sword Coast v1.45
7. Secret of Bonehill v2.05

8. All other mods, except the ones on this list (they should go after Big Picture v177)

9. Big Picture v177
10. BG2 Tweaks v3
11. DEFJAM XP fixer v3
12. BP-BGT Worldmap v6.3

-------------------------------------
should we keep to the new order now?

i'm asking bcause i'm about to install everything?

i have this order which i arrived at after weeks of reading posts:

0. Full BG1+ToTSC+5512 patch and BG2 SOA+TOB+26498 patch

1. BG2 fixpack v1 (---> fix is needed)
2. SoS v1.11 (Shadows Over Soubar)
3. TDD v1.11 (The Darkest Day)

4. CtB v1.8 (Check the Bodies) (won't don't install the 'Candlekeep Chores' component)
5. CtBXPFix (Experience cap patch)

6. TS-BPv6.09 (Tortured Souls)

7. RoTv2.0 (Region of Terror) + RoTv2.01_Fix

8. BGT102-Install v1.02 (Baldur's Gate Trilogy) + BGT_fix_files + edit Baldur.ini

9. scsbgt_v4.2 (Sword Coast Stratagems)

10. DSotSC4BGTWeidu185WM6 (Dark Side of the Sword Coast)
11. NTotSC4BGTWeidu145WM6 (Northern Tales of the Sword Coast)
12. SoBHv205FullWM6 (Secret of Bonehill)

13. Ajoc's Minimod Weidu v1.6
14. UnfinishedBusiness-v15 (won't install Suna Seni component and probably the For Boo Kidnapping component)

15. NPC_Tweak-v3.0

16. Plasmo_BGBG2-v1 (New portraits)
17. BlondeImmy-v4
18. 1pp-v2 (BG2 Artwork Fixpack)

19. Improved_Horns-v1.2

20. Sword_and_Fist-v1
21. SongAndSilence-v1

22. BPv177 (Big Picture) + BPv177_TOB_Fix

23. Divine_Remix-v5
!!! Before installing Divine Remix, copy the file MXSPLPRS.2DA that was updated by BP, paste it into folder \Divine_Remix\cleric\copy (thus overwriting the exisitng file).

24. D0QuestPack_v23 (won't install the General AI Improvements & Expanded Vocabulary AND Creature & Area Improvements AND Revised Hell Trials)

25. PnPCelestials-v4
26. BG2_Tweaks-v3
27. BP-BGT-Worldmap-v6.3
28. DEFJAM_v3 (XP Fixes)

29. Setup-GUI

is it ok, or shall i change anything? now there seems to be a new suggested order with BGT02 immediately after BG2 fixpack

also i noticed advice to actually replace the BGT/Worldmap/links.tbl with the one located here: http://www.shsforums...p...ost&id=4098 - no one had mentioned it before - is it necessary and is it something i would have to do with my mods arranged like they are shown above?

thanks for any advice :)

in the sticky, it says '- Simding0's Experience Fixer - NOTE: Fully compatible with BP and BP+ games.'

yet, i found this advice: ' DEFJAM XP fixer v3 - in my opinion, it's a must on every BGT install; otherwise game is very unbalanced because you receive 1000's xp for every lock picked or spell learned. Don't install component reducing XP given for creatures - it has compatibility issues with Big Picture. I usually use "Reduce XP awards for locks/traps/spells to 10%" and uninstall it when I reach BG2. If you want to use DEFJAM, install it right before running Setup-GUI in the last step.

does this incompatibility refer to the latest versions of the mods or is it something that was in the previous versions - do you recommend installin creature xp reduction component?

There's an incompatibility, but it's not critical. You just may be getting inconsistent XP awards for monsters killed because BP uses its own system of creature XP adjustments (say, BP reduces XP for one creature by 25% and then you install DEFJAM with 50% setting and reduce it even further).
By the way, version 4 of DEFJAM has been released at PPG.

only if you do install BG1 NPC Project, which you don't have on your list; and only after new revised version is released, which hasn't yet happened.

Yes, if fixes some worldmap problems.

UnfinishedBusiness-v15 (won't install Suna Seni component and probably the For Boo Kidnapping component)

don't forget to skip Restored Minor Dialogs, too

hang on - where's this incompatibility warning? this used to be the behaviour with BP, but since the release of v176 it's no longer true. Horred removed all of BP's manually adjusted XP values because Sim's code is robust and because it's better to let users set the XP to the value of their choice.

Ok, I didn't know that's already been done. I thought it's one of those things he never got around to doing after venturing into NWN modding. :)

one more question: is it possible to travel south to Amn while still doing BG1 stuff? in other words, can i get over the mountains in the south and travel on the map freely at any moment? this also refers to other areas added further in the east

it's about BG2 fixpack v1 - it contains a beta fixes component - do you usually install it - do you recommend it?

thanks
