My game is stuck in BG 2 in the dungeon in the cages. Any ides why this might happen

Your installation was successful.

If you read the readme file, it warns that Quest XP component will give you parse errors.

thank you very much for your answer. I have another problem now. can not progress in BG2 with this setup. from the very start my character just sits in the cage in the prison in the very beginning and nothing happens

This sounds like a known problem, associated with the fixpack--did you try the fix stickied near the top of this forum? The problem isn't supposed to exist with BGT 1.02, tho, so what version are you using?
