Hello!

I was wondering how the BG1 engine calculates the HP for my character.

He is a F/C//M with a Con of 18

He should get (10+8+4)/3 HPs + a constitution bonus

If the constitution bonus is the sum of what I should get for each class, then it is (4+2+2)/3 to be added to the first number.

In this case: 7,33+2,66 giving us 10 HP

But even using other solutions, I still cannot see how the total can ever be 11 HP.

Can anybody cast some light on this ? Thanks!

EDIT: I think that the engine adds the full bonus of the class with the best Con benefits (Fighter) so that it adds 7,33+4 and rounding down. This would make me assume that I will get a full Con Bonus of 4 HP next time when I level up with as Fighter while no Bonus at all would be added when levelling up as Cleric and Mage.

The game is supposed to equally divide up the CON bonus, with anything over a 16 CON going into the FTR class.

You should start with 11.

10+8+4=22
22/3=7.....
7+4=11

With a CON of 18, you should get 1 extra HP at Cleric and Mage level-ups, but 2 extra at Fighter level-ups.

Oh, squiggly line in my eye fluid. I see you lurking there on the periphery of my vision. But when I try to look at you, you scurry away. Are you shy, squiggly line? Why only when I ignore you, do you return to the center of my eye? Oh, squiggly line, it's alright, you are forgiven.
