Installation question

I have never installed a mod in this way before...the way the readme says it is to be done is to "wait for the first Irenicus cutscene, and then exit". What does it mean? Skip it, then minimize the game and install RTT? Also, if there is no import-character feature, how do you "choose" which of your old romanceable npcs to bring with you?
Damn, I wish I had a working computer instead of this old laptop...as of now, I'm gathering information in anticipation of a new computer very, very soon...

RTT falls victim to a flaw that some other mods have in common; namely, you need to start a vanilla game of SoA before installing the mod. In layman's terms, think of it as cleansing the palate.
As for your second question, if memory serves, you choose which romanceable NPC to bring with you during the character creation process, or shortly thereafter. Don't worry, you won't miss it.

It means you have to start a new Shadows of Amn game. When you see your character and Irenicus, you can exit.
If you miss it, RTT won't work (this is a technical problem).
Don't worry about you love, you can't bring him/her with you.

1. Start a fresh SoA game
2. Wait til Irenicus has done his entire "Ah, the child of bhaal has awoken. It is time for more experiments" etc. etc. But then Imoen shows up right afterwards, right? How do I handle that? Or do you mean I minimize the game right after Irenicus has teleported out?
3. In any case, I then start a new game from the regular SoA main menu?
Thanks.

you can wait for Imoen, or simply ALT+F4, nothing changes.

yep.

Sorry if I'm asking the same questions here, I just don't want there to be any hassle.

Hm, alt+f4? Does that not close the application entirely? Shouldn't I just alt+tab out? And then, with the game in minimized mode install RTT?
please, don't do that, your pc could explode! (I'm joking)
well... I thought the readme was quite clear, but probably I was wrong.
here you can find what you have to do, step by step:
install soa
install tob
install patch 26498
run bg2
start a new soa game
when Imoen joins the party, CLOSE bg2
Unpack RTT15.rar into the directory where Baldur's Gate 2 is installed
run setup-rtt.exe
install component 1 and 2
wait for the tiz-tis conversion ends (you'll see the readme)
close the readme
run bg2
start a new rtt game
enjoy (I hope)
p.s. don't worry about your questions; I'm here for that!

Just one thing...should I close the game AFTER imoen has joined or just alt+f4 in the middle of her conversation? I mean, what is the point of quitting the game altogether anyway? Does that not negate the whole "install" effect?
Eh, I got my new computer today, so I shall just try and do as you say.

you can close after imoen joins the party or alt+f4 in the middle of the conversation or turn off the electricity when you see irenicus; it doesn't matter.
