Dont let yourself get surrounded and keep moving. The rune assassins are tough but beatable with the right tactics and a bit of luck (depending on party composition and level).

I don't think there is any way to beat the endless respawning of rune assassins at my level. each hit on the assassin will dimension door in one more assassin.

Its not endless.
I think there are only 3 or 4 of them when you confront the guy at the bridge district. They only manage to invis themselves fairly quickly, making you think there are a lot.
True seeing helps.

I am not talking about those Rune assassin in bridge district, it only have 2 in house + 4 outside which still manageable.

I am talking about one of random encounter which you found 2 rune assassin + 1 mage, if you attack the rune assassin, each hit will dimension door in one more rune assassin, which may end up fill the map with assassins. I don't know which mod added this encounter, but it looks like one of BP component

A bit of a rare appearance from yours truly :whistling: ,but it sounds like you have a problem with a spawning loop, something similar happens with one area of the old PSM. If this is the case i do mean if this is the case then you may need to remove the offending mod or drop in a new AREA file. Post Weidy log etc.

I never had Rune Assassins spawn in my games with BP. Only bands of several high level humans of varying professions.

Which random encounter area was it? AR0041 to AR0046 should be the range. I'm not cetain why they're continually teleporting in, but wait til you run into the wilding gang of beholders, elder orbs, directors gauths and spectators,,,

I managed to kill the mage first without hitting the assassin, but every step I move, one more assassin appear, only way to survive is to get out of the area asap

the same(endless spawning rune assassins) happened to me, and i didn't install BP.

and for the rune guys in the bridge district, i go out of the tanner's place and go back in, and the rune assassins come one or two at a time, easy kill.

I managedd to kill them fairly well, but lost Minsc and Aerie in the scuffle. Lucky for me I resurected them at the temple ( just down the road), But started it with a risky move. (Wand of fear after coaxing them ALL to attack me), this little tactic decreased their number dramatically.

The irritating thing about these guys ( and others like them) is that they are able to hide in shadows right in front of you, and attack with their backstab multiplier immediately( all the while they are hasted). This is a cheat, because rules clearly stipulate, hiding in shadows during battle is IMPOSSIBLE, and even your NPC's/You cannot do the same thing!
So this is a Video game issue and not a Dungeons and Dragons issue so-to-speak. I would suggest that certain moders pay closer attention to the ACTUAL D&D rules when adding things to mods!

They drink potion of invisible.

Actualy,, most of them don't,, this would explain why they can attack instantly!
Also, after killing them,, not 1 potion left, including those I killed immediately!
Mind you, I like the income after taking their stuff!

The endless spawning of assassins is due to D0QuestPack. It can be fixed without re-installing, or by making change(s) to city_new.baf: [link]

Well, you are on the Big Picture forum, the BP couldn't possibly be the abbreviation of that. nope.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.
