Hello. i have trouble with initiating the big trademeet quest (in original BG2, i didnt start SoS quests yet)
i cannot speak to high merchant logan coprith, i always get the "has nothing to say to you" message. and because of that, i cant do the quest with freeing trademeet, i cant even travel to the druid grove area(it isnt on my map, cause coprith didnt give me directions)

can anyone help? perhaps some CLUA comands?

thanx

Did you remember to patch you BG2 game with the official patch?

Thats all fine and dandy but if you didnt apply the official bioware patch to TOB then you will have the problem you described. Its patch 26498.

you might wish to post yr weidu.log.

Logan Coprith will speak to you about the druid quest without any promptings - the only checks on his starting dialogues are: the number of times you've spoken with him (two different responses depending upon whether or not you've spoken with him previously); yr reputation (three different responses, depending upon yr rep) and whether you've killed faldorn or not (two different responses).

so unless you've stuffed yr install or you've been playing with variables in the CLUA console, he will always have something to say to you. assuming yr game is patched, he can't not speak to you; the fact that he isn't suggests there's something wrong with yr local install; which is why posting yr weidu log would help.

thank you for answering. now, i dont know much about bg2 mod scene nor about infinity engine, so i didn't mess anything up in the CLUAconsole. i installed like i wrote earlier. here's whats in my weidu.log file:

hallo, its me again.

i just reinstalled the whole thing. i did BG2 + ToB + official patch 26498 + Shadows of soubar v 1.11 weidu.

now, i opened the savegames. talking with logan coprith in trademeet is fixed, thanks god (and you, guys)

BUT! there's a new problem. when i tried to start SoS by talking to Gaelan at the promenade, the cutscene with soubar bandits started and the game crashed to windows. is there any fix for that?

i would be grateful for any help guys.

I left soubar, went to trademeet, and coprith will not speak to me. Is there a clua command to initiate dialogue? There are actually 2 merchant lord copriths standing there and the letter that I have to give him just reads "Call thunderstorm". Can I go back to the major and just set a global so he sends me on to the next mission? I'm running soa and tob with patch plus big picture, sos, tdd, g3 tweaks, lvl1npcs, and worldmap. I'm pretty sure all of these are installed properly and in the proper order as i did research before installing. Here's my log. Thanks to all you guys/gals that answer these questions for all of us 'not so knowledge-able' gamers over the years.

BG2 FIXPACK is a necessity for this mod and the Worldmap. I am going to get evil for the next release and put a REQUIRE_FILE or REQUIRE_COMPONENT for the installation.

BG2 FIXPACK is a necessity for this mod and the Worldmap. I am going to get evil for the next release and put a REQUIRE_FILE or REQUIRE_COMPONENT for the installation.

Hello I have the same problem but I have BG2 Fixpack installed : please see my log. Did I use the wrong Fixpack or miss a choice ?
Thank you

Nothing to say to you for the original quest or the Soubar letter quest? If it is for the Soubar quest, I think the main quests for Trademeet have to be finished or you haven't made him mad.

Yes, I have already finished all original Trademeet quests, and no, I haven't made him mad. But I see 2 versions of him in his office...and none will speak to me for the Soubar quest.
Any help is welcome !
Thanks

Here are the global checks for him to say somethings. Note the checks can mean a variable less than the number given which is the GlobalLT. The fourth one you rules out so that is probably 0 since he was not angered.
Global("CbStopLogan","GLOBAL",1)
GlobalLT("loganmantle","GLOBAL",2)
GlobalLT("feudplot","GLOBAL",2)
!Global("loganmad","GLOBAL",1)

You can check globals in game by CLUAConsole:GetGlobal("CbStopLogan","GLOBAL") like that to find the value. Using a Save game editor/viewer like Shadowkeeper works as well.

If one does not match any of the above globals, the check fails so you can modify the global by CLUA command. Let me know which one it is as it will help determine what went wrong.

Cheers

Hi, thanks for the help : sorry, you got it right : I have loganmantle set to 1 and it says loganmad doesn't exit (typo ? I tried different sentences several times, but got the same answer).
I recall having given the mantle to one of the families at that time :whistling:
should I change the value for loganmantle ?
Thank you

Cheers

Failure to give him the mantle makes him mad  Try:

CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("loganmantle","GLOBAL",1)

Failure to give him the mantle makes him mad  Try:

CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("loganmantle","GLOBAL",1)

Set parameter back to 1, checked and got same message : "nothing to say to you".
Tried then to set loganmad to different values : 0 and 2 give "nothing to say to you", 1 gives angry answer from both logans.
Actually, set loganmantle back to 2, and now it works. Problem solved, Thanks a lot ! :D

Interesting. I will keep this in mind as there may have been two parameters of checks for him with slightly different globals. One would work if some of the conditions were standard and then a few floating conditions to incorporate the different outcomes of the Trademeet buisness. I'll double check these and I have to fix the dual Logans anyway.
