I made a mod! :o A silly very serious and very short one, but anyway.

[EDIT] Updated August 8, 2009: version 3.4. Added Spanish translation, thanks to Clan REO.

Other languages supported are English, French, German, Italian and Russian.

About:
This mod is a very serious1 attempt to make Throne of Bhaal more interesting. It adds a small "quest" containing sn... an encounter of serpentine nature on the pocket pl... dimension, as well as a brand new (and stylish!) item.

How to play:
In order to play this mod, there are three things you must do:
* You need to have Imoen in your party,
* You need to have finished your negotiations with Sarevok's wraith, and
* You must be in the pocket plane.
Once these conditions are met, the "quest" will start automatically in a few moments. You should not need to start a new game.

Installation:
* Unpack snakes_v3_3.zip to the folder where you have Baldur's Gate II installed.
* Run Setup-SNAKES.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.
* Should you wish to uninstall the mod, run Setup-SNAKES.exe a second time.
* Enjoy.

1) Or not.

I doubt I'm the first person to get the idea, but I have never actually seen it done before. I wrote the first version back in August, but didn't have a SHS account at the time. Since I recently got an urge to poke it a little and add a couple of things that were missing (roleplaying options!), I figured I might as well post it here now. So: Why exactly are there snakes on this pocket plane? :D

If anyone cares to try it out, feel free to tell me what I'm doing wrong. I'm new to this, and it probably shows. Any criticism would be welcome.

...I haven't even seen the film yet... <_<

Thanks! It was kind of a pain to make it, but still quite fun.

Now if I could only get my arse in gear and finish one of the *serious* mods I've been thinking about... :whistling:

The Sammy Jackson portrait is rather amusing

how come you always look so damn cool in every photo I see you in?!?

Speaking of modding, I listened to IER 3 yesterday, so you can have another quote for your signature: how come you sound so damn cool, as well as look it? It's unfair. Seriously.

Still a cyberjock, still hacking the matrix, still unsure of what that means.

The Sammy Jackson portrait is rather amusing

It seemed appropriate, somehow. :whistling:

(Hm, perhaps I should follow this up with a "Sir Samuel the Paladin" NPC mod...)

I support this. My friend Noctalys even said she would pay for this to happen.

She wants him to be romanceable.. XD

Oh, crap. Now I'm sorely tempted to actually do that.

Well, I should be able to find some voice clips online...

and I already have a portrait...

...

Sorely tempted.

Nonono, not wrong at all!

I'm really going to have to do this, aren't I? Oh well, I think I pretty much have a soundset ready for him by now anyway. All that's left is writing and coding, and that couldn't be too hard.

...right? :crying:

It might require some research in the way of watching some of his movies..

Might I ask if he will have a glowing purple sword?

Ideally yes, but I was thinking more along the lines of looking up a lot of quotes on teh intarwebs. :whistling:

Might I ask if he will have a glowing purple sword?

Heck, I didn't even think of that. He'll definitely get a glowing purple sword.

Perhaps a sabre of some kind.

Possibly a very light one. <_<

Cool, vilkacis! You seem to be on a creative spree at present.

Well, something like that. Somehow I don't feel anywhere near creative enough, though. I need to write more stuff!

This is most unexpected. And highly amusing.

Come on, you haven't been to Soviet schools. We've been taught to translate from English into Russian, but not vice versa; so while it's not exactly "Gone with the Wind"(neither are my translations, to be honest), it's probably decent.

I'd be extremely impressed if anyone could manage to turn something like this into "Gone with the Wind". It's not like the original material is Nobel prize winning material to begin with. <_<

Unfortunately, I can't read Russian, so I'm not in a position to find out just how good the translation is.
