Hello,

was just wondering if there's any particular condition besides conversation # to be filled before those folks show up. I mean, I've had all of Carth's speeches of before the Leviathan, and his old friend won't show up to tell him that his son is on Korriban. How am I supposed to go about that planet and not end up forced to kill Dustil when I kill Yuthura and cie?

And what about Jagi who's supposed to blow a fuse at Canderous? Is there a minimum number of Star Maps to find before he appears???

If this game is all bugged again, I'm gonna be soooo angry.

Well I can help you on Carths quest but I'm pretty sure Bioware never finished putting Canderous' quest in the game... I've tried everything to get the Jagi quest and nothing works so it's probley not in the game at all...

But as for the Carth quest you have to first speak to him early on in the game about it, after the first few planets he should spill the beans about his son. Then once on Kashyyyk walking past the Czerka shop on the landing platform it should activate triggering Carth having a talk with one of his old war buddies, he tells Carth about seeing Dustil on Korriban so once you get around to going there he'll be in the Sith Academy, then whether Light or Dark you take it from there...the trick to activating this quest is A being fully up to date with Carth and B making sure he's in your party and that you do it right when you arrive on Kashyyyk, otherwise after the Wookiee rebellion or the Czerka overthrow it'll be too late to activate.

Hope this helps, and sorry about the Canderous quest...I'm pretty sure it never made it in the game.

Canderous' quest made it. It's been too long since I played th egame to give you the exact details of when, where, and how, but you can definitely meet his "friend" for a discussion.

Edit: I'm being vague on some of the results, too, so as to avoid spoilers ;)

For characters Carth and Bastila, a new dialog is triggered each time you enter and exit the Ebon Hawk. Do so until Carth mentions that Revan and Malak destroyed his homeworld and killed his family. Then go through any of the four side quest trigger points (right outside the Ebon Hawk on Dantooine, Near the exit of the Docks on Korriban and Manaan, outside the Czerka Headquarters on Kashyyyk) to make the character appear. -_-

And what about Jagi who's supposed to blow a fuse at Canderous? Is there a minimum number of Star Maps to find before he appears???

For characters Canderous, Jolee and Juhani new dialog is triggered every level up, not Star Maps obtained, so make sure to start talking to these characters early on if you want to do their side quests. ;)

All sidequests have the same trigger points (see above), but no trigger points cannot be triggered twice in a row (i.e. two side quests cannot be activated consecutively). Return to the Ebon Hawk and pass the trigger point again if you have already triggered a side quest and meet the requirement of triggering another.

If this game is all bugged again, I'm gonna be soooo angry.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is actually one of the less bugged RPGs out there.
It is very rare to get to a point where a bug stops you from proceeding with the game. :)

By the way, even after the encounter with Jagi, Canderous' side quest will not officially be considered 'over' until you talk to him on board the Ebon Hawk at the Star Forge (where he will swear allegiance to Revan.)

It may just be in the PC version only because I've played through Kotor tons of times and everytime I try to activate the quest I get nothing...could be they never put it in on the Xbox. Oh well, hopefully it works for her I guess...

You see, that's exactly what I mean. I AM up to date with Carth's conversation. And I pass before the trigger points (REPEATEDLY, argh) and his old friend never shows up. Idem with Cand. I'm done with his conversations and I'm supposed to get Jagi to blow a fuse at him at some of the trigger points, but it just won't happen. I run back and forth around the trigger points, but oh, no, no one will show up.

And that's what I mean about that game being bugged again. The only thing I could figure was that I had missed a requirement somewhere, such as Star Map number or somesuch, but if not... then how do you tamper with a savegame to set the triggers right???????

As I said:
1) Return to the Ebon Hawk
2) Talk to Carth in the bridge of the Ebon Hawk
3) Exit the Ebon Hawk
4) Go to trigger point

Repeat the procedure three times. If it still doesn't work try going to another planet and trying the trigger point there. I usually get Carth's sidequest activated at the trigger point on Kashyyyk. -_-

Exactly, I can't speak for the Canderous sidequest but Dustil's should work with no problems...remember- you gotta be on Kashyyyk for the trigger point, and it might be that your too far gone in the game, like past Korriban and Kashyyyk, if that's the case you may have to retry on another play through...

I got Cand's quest working before, idem for Carth, and I got Carth's encounter on Manaan both times I got it. I've done exactly what you've suggested, Quiet Lurker, and more than twice on each planet by now. It just won't happen. So?

Could be bugged....but if you got the encounter with Carth's war buddy then go to Korriban and check in the Sith Academy, if you've activated it he's in there...that is is you haven't already done Korriban, otherwise...you're too late, you'll have to try on another playthrough...

The Canderous - Jagi quest worked fine for me on the xbox *shrugs*. The main thing I know about the quest for Carth's son is it must be triggered and Korriban done before the Leviathan encounter is triggered. Personally I find the Juhani quest and her dialogues to be the buggiest. (Still she's a good tank :) )

Really...how exactly did you activate the Canderous quest on the Xbox? Just be talking to him? Because for me it never showed up in the dialogue with Canderous...anyways, no big deal I guess...I'm playing through Kotor II again now anyway...

Sorry about the hiatus, but Anonymous is correct, you must NOT have landed on Korriban before, otherwise Carth's friend won't show up, and as far as I know, the side quest cannot be triggered on Korriban. :(

It helps if you do Korriban last, note that although the side quest has to be triggered before the Leviathan, it can be finished afterwards. :P

Juhani's side quest only works if you start talking to her before you reach level 7 (I think).

OK, so now the trigger didn't happen before the Leviathan. I'm just going to have to kill Dustil off with everyone else on Korriban? Is there no way to tweak with the save game to make it as though I did meet Carth's old friend? I got KotOR tool, but to be honest it's all gibberish to me and I have no idea if I should even be able to modify the savegame with that tool. Anything else?

If Carth's sidequest is not triggered, Dustil will not even appear on Korriban. -_-
Perhaps you've encountered Carth's cutscene and forgot about it?

Spoilers,

Talking to him(I think it gets set up to happen after he talks about a particular battle) and making sure I had him with me for some occasions when exiting the ship. I did find that, for me, the first Jagi encounter wouldn't trigger on Tatooine as that is where the final encounter occurs. I also found that it was more likely to trigger post Leviathan and on another planet such as Manaan (which I usually do last.)

Definitely not. I've been waiting for it to happen since StarMap #2. If it had happened, I wouldn't still be waiting for it :)

Could be worse, I've played through the game at least half a dozen times, dark side/LS, male/female, and not once have I ever gotten the dustil sidequest to trigger. I've gotten all the others, though I only get Canderous sometimes ( I forget to start talking to him early).

I've never gotten a triggered event on Kashyyyk, where is the trigger point?

Quick question. Will the quest show up if I already did Korriban and killed all the sith inside after the final test where I chose my side and had to kill both of them?
