Is it possible to replace the casting sounds (the words you chant when you cast a spell ;P) with the ones from Baldurs gate 1/2?

It should be. It's certainly possible to create your own spells and associate sounds/effects with them, so altering existing ones should be equally possible. I'll have a look next time I have time to see the best way to do it.

Back from the brink.

Like RPGs? Like Star Wars? Think combining the two would be fun? Read Darths and Droids, and discover the line "Jar Jar, you're a genius".

These, in the day when heaven was falling,
The hour when earth's foundations fled,
Followed their mercenary calling
And took their wages and are dead.

If you check in the spells.2da file in the 2da directory you'll find a list of the game spells with the casting sounds and animations associated with them. You should be able to change either individual spells or a whole category. For an individual spell modify the file so that the sound you want to use is specified instead of the default.

To change all the spells you can drop a new file in the override directory with the right filename/type. All the casting sounds use the format vs_chant_xxxx_l(m/f) where xxxx can be ench, conj, necr, evoc, illu depending on school of spell. M/F is the ending depending on whether the caster is male or female. All the files are .wav. So to change all the evocation spells for a male caster, create a file with the sounds you want and give it the name vs_chant_evoc_lm.wav and put it in the override directory. That should work.
