i am using a fresh install of ToB patched to 26498 and ToSC patched to 5512 +DX8 patch and baldurdashToBv16 installed in a second install of ToB, after i install BGTv103 anythimr i try to start the game by clicking on BGmain i get a box that just says -1 then after clicking ok it pops up with asertion error failed in ChDimm.cpp line number 834, any clues what the problem is i've tried reinstalling from scratch with an unmodded version of ToB 26498 and still have the same error anyone have any clues?
game does not run after install

check this stickied post about how and when to alter the baldur.ini file - hopefully, this should provide the solution you need.
on a slightly different note: don't install baldurdash v1.6 - it's not causing this crash, but it's likely to cause you other issues in-game. please use the BG2 Fixpack - it's the modern, up to date replacement version of baldurdash, and won't cause you in-game issues.

BG2 failed to start up. Try to reinstall. Make sure that the baldur.ini file is NOT flagged read only and make sure that the [Alias] section is pointing to the correct directories of your install.
Here is a sample of what the [Alias] section should look like for a full install:
[Alias]
HD0:=D:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\
CD1:=D:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD1\
CD2:=D:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD2\
CD3:=D:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD3\
CD4:=D:\Games\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\CD4\
This should let you start the game.

what issues might arrize exactly there are some components of v1.6 that i think might be fun like Multi strongholds, and twisted rune quest (although i have no idea waht it actually is more quests are always fun)on a slightly different note: don't install baldurdash v1.6 - it's not causing this crash, but it's likely to cause you other issues in-game. please use the BG2 Fixpack - it's the modern, up to date replacement version of baldurdash, and won't cause you in-game issues.

BD 1.6 is (officially) required for latest version of TS and NEJ.
If you're not playing one of those, then my personal biased and subjective recommendation would be to use BG2 Fixpack.
I would advise against using BG2 DX8 Patch - in this other thread by you Miloch gave the reference link why. There's gotta be a reason why developers themselves didn't recommend using it.
The CHDIMM error most often happens in case you have wrong folder paths in your BALDUR.INI (look here for example)
