I ve been trying to finght at the arena for a while, and since i didnt have any true fighters, i waited for my thief/mahe to get to lvl 15, but now he s there, but i stil get only the answer that "there is noone on the party who would like to try". is there something wrong, or are the battles limited to true class chars?

One battle is for fighter types, the other mage types. Talk to different guys in the Arena building. It is also level dependent, so try again every couple of levels or so. The mage battles can be done with multi/dual types. I've used Nalia, Edwin, Aerie, etc.
