I always thought it was odd that I could never find a list of all the bird names Haer'Dalis gives the NPCs. While it is not all that important.. it might be handy for a list to be made. Just in case there are other sticklers out there like me who want to know these things. :whistling:

Just the Biowares for now. If you can think of any from a mod, please post it in this thread. I'll be getting back here to post some from the slew of mods I have later. Posted Image

Unreleased (that I know of) will be in blue. There is no guarantee that mods in blue will ever be completed. These are merely for mods and bird names posted to this thread.

Kellen: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ptarmigan (Yes, I had to look it up, too :)).

The only mod npc's I've ever played with Haer'Dalis have been Chloe, whom he calls a warhawk, and Keto, whom he calls a robin (if I remember correctly). And he'll be calling Darian (the mod npc I'm working on) an eagle. Not sure about any other mod npc's, though-I rarely have Haer'Dalis in my party.

Having to decided I had to find the banter with Jaheira, I opened up NI.

A few notes.

Cernd, my rustic, wind-borne swallow. Not sparrow.

Also PC is also a Dark Hound.

Mazzy is a tiny hawk.

IIRC (I can't check right now) Jan's "would-be sparrow" comes when Jan tried to do a little poetry of his own. This would mean that HD refers to poets as sparrows. :)

Haer'Dalis generally refers to Arkalian as a crow

He calls Longer Road's Irenicus "Phoenix" and comments that he used to refer to Irenicus as "Vulture." Irenicus sarcastically refers to Haer'Dalis and Aerie both as "pigeons" at a couple points.

Saerileth he calls a dove (I think once or twice a turtledove, but I'm not sure).

"Tyranny is a quiet thing at first, a prim and proper lady pursing her lips and shaking her head disapprovingly, asking, well what were you doing (wearing that dress, walking home at that hour, expressing those inappropriate thoughts) anyway? It's subtle and insidious, disguised as reasonable precautions which become more and more oppressive over time, until our lives are defined by the things we must avoid. She's easy enough to agree with, after all, she's only trying to help -- and yet she's one of the most dangerous influences we face, because if she prevails, it puts the raping, robbing, axe-wielding madmen of the world in complete control. Eventually they'll barely need to wield a thing, all they'll have to do is leer menacingly and we fall all over ourselves trying to placate them." -godlizard

From browsing through his banter file, Haer'Dalis refers to Tashia as a swan and Yasraena alternately as a raven and a nightingale.

What about an ostrich? Bald head, desert-dwelling, fast-moving, and uses its feet as deadly weapons. :P

What an interesting topic.

He calls Ninafer canary.
Her lips were red, her looks were free
Her locks were as yellow as gold
Her skin was white as leprosy.
The Nightmare Life-in-Death was she,
Who thicks man's blood with cold.

It's really nice to see the variety there is in the mod nicknames :D
