If anyone can help i'd really appreciate it because I'm going insane.

Alright - I used NI to export sounds out of BG1 (Namely monster sounds and various spell effects) but I can't seem to open them with the media player... now I've read that they are wavc and after hours of googling a way to turn wavc to wav I am left clueless and partly insane... help... please... :crying:

DLTCEP can convert wavc -> wav (it can laso convert wav -> wavc, acm -> wav and wav -> acm).

Use "Export and Convert" option in NI.

If you want to use NI, you'll need acm2wav in conjunction with it. I had some issues setting that up myself not too long ago, though.

Er.. I can only find "export".. no "export and convert" x.x....

I've also tried DLTCEP, but the converted versions would still not open in media player and such.

Use PS Gui. DLTCEP adds an extra byte in the WAV header. IIRC, while it technically is allowed according to the file structure definition, it is useless and causes some programs not to be able to play it.

If you've got a straight answer ANYWHERE in that bent little head of yours, I want to hear it pretty damn quick or I'm going to take a large blunt object roughly the size of Elminster AND his hat, and stuff it lengthwise into a crevice of your being so seldom seen that even the denizens of the nine hells themselves wouldn't touch it with a twenty-foot rusty halberd! Have I MADE myself perfectly CLEAR?!"
