Inspired by the thread in the NWN1 forum of the same name.

Bishop for me. Much better than that silly paladin we get stuck with for our only romance option, with about ten times as much depth (then again, even *Elanee* has more depth than Casavir). Yeah, I've got an insatiable appetite for romance. Drives my fiance nuts. :) I'd even romance Sand if it were an option.

I haven't finished the game yet, but so far my two favorite joinable NPCs are Grobnar and Casavir (and it has nothing to do with his non-romance). My favorite non-joinables are Torio and Daeghun.

Either Khelgar or Sand. Yes, they're stereotypes, but they're fun nevertheless.

Favourite joinables are already mentioned, but I'll give you another Sand vote :).

Favourite non-joinable NPC's: I really liked Torio, myself. Can you tell the trial was my favourite part of the game? ;)

I really disliked the trial because it caused me to get severely dissappointed in Sand, who up to that point was my fav. I even thought of romancing him, but the trial and that pathetic heckling killed my liking of him. I am thinking of trading him back for Qara.

You don't know how much I wish Neeshka was romanceable in this game. She's cute as hell.

Favorite joinables: Probably Neeshka and Khelgar. Elanee is good enough, but she tends to get on my assassin's nerves.

Khelgar and Sand. Khel is my butt kicking fighter in my group. I liked how he fought in your honor after the trial. Sand has my kind of sense of humor plus he's a good mage.

Grobnar - because some of the things he says makes me laugh.
Khelgar - A good friend I'd have to guard my back.

I liked Sand. At least he had flaws that made him more interesting, and cynic as well. Neeshka was pretty well done too. Khelgar was kinda amusing but a bit stereotype.

Khelgar may have been a stereotype but he was really really fun. My only problem with Khelgar is that I felt bad giving him an axe after all the talk he kept up about brawling is how a proper warrior does it.

Though she was only around for a very short time I also liked Amie. Her dream was to run around dungeons with a quill in hand. What else really compares?

Aside from having a big boulder fall on Qara's head? I have no idea. :D

Hm, despite not having played NWN2 in ages now, I still like Khelgar and Neeshka best, especially when paired. :)

Neeskha is my favourite, but I haven't seen them all since the damn game won't let me.

From the original campaign my favourites were Khelgar, Neeshka, Bishop, and Zhaeve. Khelgar was my favourite of those, yes he was in many ways a stereotype yet his goal in life was something really unusual for a dwarf, and he was probably the most amusing of your companions. Neeshka was also fun, and provided a useful set of skills, though I didn't like her voice. Bishop was interesting to have around, providing a much more cynical voice in most situations. Zhaeve was a late addition and I really liked her, which seems to be an unpopular opinion  , but she was a character I'd really miss in the later part of the game.

From MotB, my favourite character is Safiya. I think they're mostly better developed than OC companions, though Khelgar and Neeshka are comparable - it's not really a surprise that the people who are around most are better developed. All the MotB ones have something interesting about them, even if they aren't all to my taste - I'm thinking of Gann here. But give me Safiya, Kaelyn and Okku and I'll be happy.

Most of the OC companions grated on my nerves (see the "Least Favorite Character" thread), but there were some that I liked having around such as Sand, Neeshka, Ammon and Shandra (stretching a bit here). I also liked Kana, though I'm not sure why...guess it's always nice to have a submissive Asian woman about. :whistling: After trouncing Torio in the trial (and unleashing any leftover frustration on Lorne) I felt kinda sympathetic towards her and let her live, which usually means I like someone enough. :)

For MotB, Safiya/Kaji were tops as far as companions go. I thought I would outright hate Gann, and I did at the beginning, but he toned his presence down and actually became likeable. Kaelyn was the opposite...she was fairly likeable at the beginning, but her obsession with the damn wall made me want to strangle her as time passed. I'm neutral towards Okku and I never used One of Many.

This was my experience playing through both as a male CN warlock.

Khelgar, Neeshka and Sand for me as well...
The interactions between Khelgar and Neeshka were among the most memorable I've seen between NPCs and you just have to love Sands dry wit and humor.

Spoiler:
Spoiler

And while the MotB NPCs were somewhat more original than the OC ones, I simply couldn't get myself to really care much about them. In my opinion a well done stereotype can at times be more entertaining than something entirely original.

I also liked the honorable Slaan and that he stood up for you. He was really the reason why my warlock didn't decide to eldritch blast the entire lizardfolk into reptile heaven!

Mmm, I don't see much difference between Kaelyn's desire to tear down the wall of the faithless because she believes the wall is unjust and Gann's wish to destroy the Hags' dreamscape to avenge his mother. (Except that the latter can be accomplished in the game.)

Kaelyn and Gann are my favorite characters in MotB since they remind me of other quixotic characters such as the Nameless One from Planescape: Torment and the Vault Dweller from Fallout I (Of course, Kaelyn is more quixotic since she IS attacking a wall :P). I like Gann a fraction more due to him being a more dynamic character. But I suppose if it IS possible to destroy the wall, Kaelyn would be just as dynamic of a character.
(Incidentally, why Ilmater, a Lawful Good diety, would support one of his clerics in performing one of the most chaotic acts in all Faerun is a question I would like answered.)

Safiya is well developed but mostly static but Kaji is definitely a negative factor in my opinion. There are well done comic relief character such as Minsc, Morte, Nordom and HK-47, then there are the Jar Jars, the Deekins, and the Cespanars. Unfortunately Kaji belongs in the second group. <_<

Okku and Many-as-One are too static and bordering on two-dimensional just like the characters in the OC. Speaking of the characters in the OC, if I had to make a choice, I suppose Neeshka would be my favorite, she actually has the guts to rob the Temple of Tyr during the Rite of Tyr. 8)
