I see alot of people showing their wonderful art skills here. Thought I would show you all some of my area work. Most of the pieces you will see are from RTW, so you will see alot of reworked areas... hence the 'return' to Windspear. Not sure when it will ever get finished, but everything you will see here are currently functional areas.

I do occassionally make areas for people, so it doesn't hurt to ask me. I will start with an area that I did last week for Zyraen.

Here are some areas from RTW. Let's start off with the main dungeon. The same... but very different.

Here is an outdoor winter area I did for someone several years ago... it needed to fit in with IWD.

Do you use Photoshop or some other program, or a mix if programs?

I use Photoshop. First I get an idea in my mind of what type of area I want. I love underground or dungeon areas the best. Then I need to decide what textures to use for the walls and floors that fit in best. I have a collection of texures that I have taken from the game and painstakingly taken out alot of the furnishings so that I can drop them when I want. Then I use alot of blending and layering to get things tight.

Here is the new spellhold area that I made for Rastor about 4 years ago. I have recently begun using this area myself... Rastor may collaborate with his content from his Improved Spellhold. Building some nice battles in there right now.

How about some alien ship areas from my Borg encounter mod. This is a work in progress, but all the areas work fine. So do the doors and control panels. Even have a view screen that you can toggle through to view other worlds ;) Started it on a dare that it couldnt be done.

I believe there is always more to a good area besides just the artwork. The actors and effects. Created some interesting visuals and creatures. Some screenies

Everythings looking really nice so far, everything does seem to fit rather nicely. :coolthumb:
I especially liked the Forgotten Crypts and the Spellhold... Something about those that just looks really cool...

The borg stuff seems to be "working" too, not that I in any way would be an expert. But it does look sufficiently scifistic.

It took me a while to comment, it's not everyday one sees art of this kind so one easily feels uncertain of what to comment on. ^_^

Heh, I remember those alien/space areas. I liked them back when I first saw them years ago, and still do!

Really incredible stuff :) Especially when Cuv has agreed to provide an area for one of my mods, it makes me very honored and grateful that I will be able to use one of your most excellent areas in the creation of my story. Thank you and really really, these areas are awesome :) Rock On, Cuv!

(PS love the northeast corner of the first RTW dungeon map especially, and the blue color sarcophagus color in the forgotten crypt map)

Well, may as well continue with more...

Here is the cavern entrance to Windspear. The place has been magically sealed and the Order has been trying to breach the magical field preventing entry.
