Personally, with what I know about the goth subculture... "Happy-looking" isn't a problem. Mostly people think more emo when they think of goth-y stuff.

Goths /aren't/ always depressed.

http://luchaire.game...ts/Gothica2.jpg <-- this shot seems.. more gothy, to me. perhaps the lipstick from the latest is good..

I mean, yeah, I've hung out with a goth in my art-school days, and, yeah, she certainly didn't look sad all the time. =P Its a bit.. of a misnomer about goths, you know? =)

Though I noticed Slof herself has textures for the females too (which I wish she would upload. She does not have to be so stingy :P).

Stingy????

I share loads of my stuff, including my resource files. I make one texture for myself for a specific character and suddenly I'm stingy?

It is easy enough to make a new skin for the female body using Satan's tattoo-free version and the tattoo layers from my Photoshop resource. That's all I did.

Another (couple) days, another (bunch of) screenshot(s).

@oldmanpoo: Wow! Not one but two excellent group shots of some interesting characters! Interesting how you've got some real child-like ones here, and monster-like ones here (that skeleton dude looks cool, by the way).

@Daiyoukai Ramza: Hmm, they're a little dark, and it's hard to pick up the details, which is quite a shame, because there's otherwise some neat drama in them. I like your choice of weapons, very fitting for angels (I gotta' pick up that Hellgate sword eventually), and the white-winged guy looks like he's pulling some professional fencing moves with his sabre.

@SeV: Thanks for the comment. Your screens are stylish as always, and I really like the muted color schemes you have going in these latest ones. Gives a more natural feeling to the character from the usual ghostly atmosphere she carried in many previous shots.

@highpressure: Torso decapitation never gets old, and the dark Ordinator armor (is it Shadow Lord?) looks really cool. I like how it fits in with this screen. There seems to be a very surreal feeling about it. You've also got some real heroic pics as well (great use of the lens flare on the sword), though your selections are rather sloppy, such as in this one. You need to pick up the gaps in the trees.

@Chimera: Interesting comparison shot of the two characters here. Their clashing appearances give a sense at perhaps how different their personalities may be. Hope they don't get into too many conflicts in their adventures.

@Soul Slayer: Heh heh heh, stupid Valen Dreth. Cool shots of both you and him staring through different bars on opposite sides of the prison. That'll teach 'im for taunting you at the begininng. Anyway, the water-walking pics look great, love the trail of ripples (those are always fun to fool around with). The first one here is especially scenic, with the sun's reflection on the water. And this is my favorite shot of Jasmine yet, great emotion shown.

@cyborgakadjmoose: Excellent views you've presented there, especially this one! and you've made me want to go through Vaernima's quest again. It's one of the more interesting dungeon crawls in vanilla Oblivion. And the shots involving her reaching for the Sigil Stone look awesome, and truly evoke power!

@Floydian1: Another pretty face. The white dress goes well with her hair. And this is an awesome dramatic shot.

@Zombie216: The tattoos look excellent, you've done a great job with them! And Elune's new look is much better, more proportional and feminine. As for your Night elf, he looks a little weird, a bit too bright and cartoony for Oblivion's world. Maybe you could try toning down the blue in his hair and beard (no, I've got no problem with the bushy beard on the elf, I know the source material), darken them a bit, so that they look like real hair growing on him and not so much like plastic. But good luck on the Night Elves.

@Yorkmaster: Ah, Idris has a very nice look. I like how the tiara and tattoo line up together, as if they're matching pieces.

@Kimory: Which way should you go? Doesn't really matter, both ways the doors are only ten feet apart. Only long-term effect is you get a different power ( SI SPOILERS
Spoiler
), and neither are really all that powerful or useful. Maybe you should pick based on what kind of character you use. What kind of personality does she have? I'm guessing dark and brooding ever since losing her wings.

@Treetop Smoker: Great job with the poses, they really look authentic.

@Ryu Doppler: More great screens. I like this one, the zombie close-ups help make it look like a really frantic fight.

@Luchaire: The third one looks best, real gothy chick there. I personally prefer the purple highlights, seems to contrast against her skin better. As for a name for her...hmmm, let's see...Nyte, Shade, Lydia, Eva, Beatrice, Thursday, Phear, Ashir, Danielle Dax, Demonica, Ethereal, Misty. And for Sithis' sake, do not use "Raven," or any variation of it; that's the most cliche goth name ever.

@Darziak
: Character shots aren't required, structural ones are most welcome. Your's is excellent, it has great lighting and shadows. Looks very sinister.

@Cosmic-Banana: Hmmm, I haven't seen her face around. Nice to see a more naturalistic woman around, though I would like some more close-ups of her face.

@Rumpleteasza
: Okay, you may not have posted any screenshot here, but that illustration of Jade is gorgeous! Excellent work! Of course, now you've opened up Pandora' Box and will be doomed to take commissions from more requesting pictures of their characters...but don't worry! I have a solution, a way to escape, and I will do it if you draw me a picture that matches this description...hey, where'd you get that LAW rocket laun-?

@Kaelis Ebonrai: Well, would help if we could get some better angles of him. What's his hairstyle, by the way? Doesn't look very familiar...

@Kalia: Thanks for your comment on my pic and uh, comments (again)! Kisa looks awesome, very bat-like, and her choice of bow is very fitting! Love the close-up here, and how impatient she looks in this one. And you did an excellent job having her hide in leaves here, puts mine to shame (was it inspired by mine?). By the way, that's not a dog my character has...

[Cough] [Cough] Ahem, glad to help. Now all she needs is some pale-skinned, ghoulish guy partner wearing a black-and-white vertical-striped suit. ^_^

And Spike4072, great to see the Ice and Wolf Elves released. They should be very interesting to play, hm hm hm

Heh, Beetlejuice... funny movie, in my opinion. Anyway, the new and (hopefully) improved version of my character is almost ready to be... er, unveiled. I FINALLY molded a nord face that looks acceptable, so I've recreated the character. He looks mostly the same, except bulkier and sans the pointy ears. I've also changed his class to be more combat-oriented. I messed up when I initially created him by giving him WAY too much magic capability. Now he's closer to how he should be... a sort of quasi-paladin, except with a more neutral good or maybe even chaotic good alignment, rather than a lawful good one.

And in regards to the Negotiator sword I used in my screenshots... it's a great sword. VERY well-made mod, if I do say so myself. Albeit, the sword is ridiculously easy to find, since it's sitting in the middle of the crossroads in the Imperial City's market district. Combined with the fact that it's incredibly powerful (60 damage per swing at 100 blade/strength... at 125% condition, it's 67 damage), the sword can really unbalance the game at low levels, even with mods like OOO and MMM. A great sword for those of us who like to hit stuff with big ol' two-handers.

Eh, I already have experience with cool-looking overpowered swords just waiting for you to grab them in the IC [Hugs his Dragon Slayer], and plenty of willpower not to use them. The Negotiator will be a very worthy addition to my ever-growing collection. hope to see your quasi-paladin soon.

@ SeV - How's the bottle feeding on the stray ones going? Bottle-feeding those small 'mals can be nerve-sracking. How old are they? I need to resteam my carpets so I can get a kitty or 2. Been kinda missing that purring souns above my head as I sleep.

@ Von Stahlriven - Congrats! Heading off to college now? :new_thumbs: :cookie:

@ Flucidity - Looks good to me. In fact, I wouldn't have noticed the hair oops if i hadn't been told. :)

@ Soul Slayer - angsty story and pics. That last one really seems to sum up how she's feeling. Fantastic story btw. Rather reminded me of how I felt when I did that part of the DB line.

@ Darziak - Mega-cool colours in this shot. :coolthumb:

@ Zombie216 - You want a bearder elf, you go for a bearded elf. He looks just fine to me. I do some pretty derned strange things with my characters if/when I can, so I'll stand behind you on beards all the way. :fish:

@ Xetirox - That is a cool looking horse. alive or not. :new_thumbs:

@ Kalia - Thank you. :) I think i'm just gonna have to get off my lazy butt and start doing a bit of eciting to my shots. :) Tweak the brightness just a bit as it's not just your screen it's dark on.

@ Rumpleteaza - Great work on the picture of Jade.

@ greatfool1 - peep!peep!peep!peep!

@ VanOa - Use a bad camera! Hamsters are darn hard to get pics of. Least my ham is. :) Raising a hamster is like rearing a 2 year old with perpetual adhd.

Luchaire, dont do a nose piercing, do a lip or brow. if you have to, texture one on, so it only looks right at a certain angle. black dragon did that with his early legion concubine.

Oh, being stupid (which i always am), i should've realized that i HATE making races. so screw working on night elves (for now), and back to tattooing!!!

Thanks for all the kinds words about my comments and about Kisa! It's nice to have the effort appreciated. There's so much great commenting going on here!

@Xetirox - Yes! That *was* the shot that inspired me to do the bush shot! (Hector, Greatfool1 - shush! :P ) I don't think mine's better than yours, except possibly that the cat eyes show through better, but hey - if you say so! Kisa looks bat-like? I finally make a character *without* wings, and she's bat-like! HEY - Dead Like Me quote in your sig! Bonus points!

@Luchaire - I'm loving Lydia! I agree, the purple is really more goth. She's looking very good - and I agree with whoever fish-slapped you, presuming lameness is silly on your part! Your work is usually the opposite of lame - in fact, you qualify for awegreatstandingesqueness! (The longer that word gets, the shorter my love affair with it will be.) By the way, if you haven't already done so, you can use Scanti's merged teeth mesh & then set that nose ring to the other teeth slot in the CS, freeing up the tail/amulet slot for other jewelry/decoration.

@Slof - Unstinginess! The anti-stinginator! (BTW, the way I read the original comment was that the person was trying to be funny by saying something that was clearly not true at tall.)

@SeV - I DEMAND CUTE KITTEN PICTURES! If you have time between the feedings, that is. :P

Awesome! ?I?ll give him an offer he can?t refuse??

Floydian1: Awesome! That skeleton got totally OWNED!

Xetirox:
I love your third pic! Drizzit Do?urden anyone?

Kaelis Ebonrai: He looks cool! I do wish I could see more of his face though. His hair was imported from Morrowind, correct? Any chance of releasing that?

highpressure:
Once again love the Ordinator shots.

Cyborg - Liked the last two shots especially ("Oh Yes - I like it here") - but the inspecting the grounds shots could perhaps have been edited to just one shot. "A mysterious castle in the mountains" has a nice light effect. This shot is great - nice use of foreground with a great sky captured in the distance. I like the skyline here, but your character could perhaps "pop" a bit more. This is a very nice shot - the snow's a great addition! :P I like the lighting/brightness effect in all these shots. Nice swimming shot - I may have to check out this house.

Thanks for the honest comments kalia! Yes...I felt that my character should have "popped" more in that shot. Thanks for the suggestion.

cyborgakadjmoose: Wow, nice Oblivion raiding! My favorite is the "It snows in Oblivion?" shot. You should make an album of ironic screenshots like that, with stuff like rain indoors...Cool pool! Wow, your character's bedroom is big...

Yeah...I think I had several of those "What the...?" shots with some of my older characters. I'll have to see if I can find them.

Thanks alot Xetirox!

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Getting Trollf's Trick to Work - from my own experience (though I fully expect that by the time I'm done typing this, someone else will have given a more concise answer! :P )

First, before launching Oblivion:
1) Make sure stickykeys is turned on! For me, in Windows 200, it's Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Accessibility Options --> Keyboard --> Settings --> "Keyboard Shortcut" (<-- there's a box to tick right there, make sure it's ticked!)

In-game, ready to freeze the action (make sure you're in third-person view):
2 Open the console (Usually "~")
3 Type "tm" without the quotes, hit "enter" -- this toggles the menus/hud off for a nice clean screenshot
4 Type "tfc" without the quotes, hit "enter" -- this toggles the free camera, so you can swing the camera around using your regular movement keys to take shots from different angles
5 Press the "shift" key 5 times in rapid succession -- this should minimize oblivion, taking you back to desktop with a "Sticky Keys" window popped up
6 (at least for me on Windows 2000) *UNCHECK* the box in the sticky keys window that says "disable" or something like that -- this would disable the sticky keys shortcut, so that next time you tried to use the trick, it wouldn't work! Uncheck the box to leave the stickykeys shortcut set.
7 Hit "Cancel" in the sticky keys box
8 On your toolbar at the bottom of your desktop, locate the minimized Oblivion & click once on it to return to Oblivion. Be patient.
9 You should now be back in the game, with the console still up & the action still frozen. NOTE: there have been a few times for me when I've gotten the game back to find nothing frozen. If this is the case, just quickly hit the shift key five times again to retry the trick.
10 THIS IS SUPER IMPORTANT - Hit *ONLY* the "~" key (or whatever it is on your keyboard) to close the console.
11 - Use the movement keys to move the camera around, and the Print Screen button to take screenshots. IF YOU HIT ANY KEYS OTHER THAN THE MOVEMENT/PRINT SCREEN KEYS AT THIS POINT, IT'S ALMOST GUARANTEED THAT OBLIVION WILL FREEZE WHEN ENDING TROLLF'S TRICK!
12 Done taking shots? Hit CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up the windows, uh, window. :P
13 Click on "Task Manager"
14 In the Task Manager, Oblivion should be highlighted. Click on "Switch To"
15 FOR ME, THIS DOES NOT BRING OBLIVION BACK UP - I now hit Alt-Tab to complete the "Switch To" process.
16 Be patient. It may take a second or two for oblivion to come back up. When it does, you should be back in the action! Bring the console back up, type "tm" & "tfc" to toggle your menus/hud back on & return to the fixed camera so you have control of the action. Now finish that bad guy off! :P

I have successfully used this trick many times. It took a while for me to get all the steps straight so that it didn't consistently mean freezing Oblivion & having to reload. It still sometimes doesn't freeze the action, but usually redoing it immediately will do the trick, so to speak. ;)
