Edit:I solved the problem now.

The recent patch appears to have made the music in the game stop playing. I can still hear voices, natural sounds (birds etc) and that's it. Does anyone know how to fix the problem or will I have to reinstall and not use the patches.

Is that 1.05 or 1.06? There's apparently been a few problems with 1.06 on some systems, but it is still officially a beta. I haven't had a problem with 1.05. There was one occasion when the same happened to me, when what had actually happened was the volume had gone to 0. Also, saving, exiting and restarting may help.

Like RPGs? Like Star Wars? Think combining the two would be fun? Read Darths and Droids, and discover the line "Jar Jar, you're a genius".

The hour when earth's foundations fled,
Followed their mercenary calling
And took their wages and are dead.

yesterday I patched from 1.04 to 1.05, on 1.04 only the ammon jerro music wouldn't work but after I patched to 1.05 now I can't hear any music and I even tried 1.06 and still the same problem. I've wobbled the volume up and down and no such luck and restarted from the beginning (the festival sounds so much more lifeless without the music :P).

I've seen one report of someone losing some of the music after upgrading to 1.05, but not of everything. I'll try to find out what I can but I probably won't have a chance until next week. :(

Did you double check the rest of windows to see if sound works out of NWN2?

@Bluenose~ The only thing I saw searching using the word "Music" on the NWN2 official forums is that all I got was some posts of people having the same problem and with replies that had some help or non at all.

@Kellen~ Yes the music files work fine outside of the game.

Well I solved the problem I was having and now the music is working again. I had made copies of the music to use them for other stuff (I didn't rename them but they were in different folders) and after I deleted them all was fine.
