TS is bugged, just like RoT and SoS, none of the latest versions actually work with BP currently. All three suffer from the same problems--corrupt areas. The only major mod that actually works (sort of) fully is TDD with BP.

Please post your WeiDU log. As stated, many people have stable installs with these same mods that do work, so if you are having area corruption problems it more than likely is from something that occured during your install. Nobody can help you pinpoint your problem without you posting the WeiDU log to assist with that.

Lol...smoking? I'm merely reporting the same problems that many people have had with normal installs, bare bones installs. Rot -- Arlax/Cromwell bugged (old problem with no solution), TS -- the cave areas CTD--again, forum logs show ppl have these problems. SoS--cutscenes never start. I'm not smoking anything, besides the fact that some of these problems have been reported for years with little to no responses. Smoking? Yeah, sure.

I know many people in the modding community work hard to get this game to work. But at the same time, it only takes 3-4 mins of forum browsing to see there are plenty of problems that were never fixed or never tackled, and get reported over and over again with every version. Being "stable" for you and "buggy" for others is not mutually exclusive.

I can post my WEIDU log but I doubt it can solve any problems, this is a bare bones install and SoS and TS doesn't work. My previous install that was bugged had this + CTD and RoT.

~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #115 // Paws from Shapeshifting Can Not Be Dispelled

This causes many CtDs. This component and beta fixes break the game not fix it.

We know that RoT has been buggy, hopefully the new version will solve this you might want to wait untill it has been tested. SoS needs to have many globals set and some/many of the problems are because the way they played though the mod.

...Rot -- Arlax/Cromwell bugged (old problem with no solution), TS -- the cave areas CTD...

The Arlax problem has a solution. Not one I'm happy with, but it is there.

I stomped all over TS about 2-3 months ago and did not have even one CtD. (Had plenty before and after.) And I was using Classic Baldurdash, with an install list way more complicated than yours.

All of this reinforces what erebusant wrote: mostly likely (but not 'definitively'), installation order or mod conflict is the cause of the problem.

I could go searching the forum for plenty of bugs, but without some test scenario to work off of, can't do much.

Give us a good description of problem, give us good info when requested, and we'll either get the probs fixed or say that can't be fixed, at least not until we can get more brains in on the work.

BTW did we get 'a good description' of your problem?

Azazello,

Actually, I have posted in several forums here what are the problems. Others have asked for proof of links of previous instances in the forum threads. I did all that. Guess what after that? ZERO RESPONSES.

Which is pretty much what I knew already--nobody had a solution to start with and were just badgering the poster. Chev clearly knows the problems I'm talking about, so really elucidating here is just pointless meandering. BTW, my installation order was exactly the same as what listed as the "safe" install order in Mega Mod Help, so I doubt that's the problem, unless the posted install order was borked to start with.

Chevalier,

Yeah, that could be one of the problems...although I'm not sure I have the patience to do a 4-5 hour Megamod install all over again just to find out if or if not that was causing CTDs in the RoT caves...I've done the install about half a dozen times already, each time eliminating a mod to see if it eliminates a bug only to find the other mod (i tend to play the mods one at a time) is bugged...looks like the simplest one (TDD) ends up being the most stable.

I do find it amusing that the BG1 mods (which in fact use resources for BG2/TOB/IWD/IWD2) in my experience were more stable than the BG2 ones...

I think I'm just gonna go play an "unmodded" ToB Ascension then go back to the horror that is NWN2...

You might want to consider updating to the latest versions of the big mods as well. Many of the previous bugs have been eliminated with the latest releases. I notice your WeiDU log still lists the older versions.

I have BP-BGT installed.

If I uninstall the fixpack, two things will occur.

1) WEIDU will uninstall all the components following (which is pretty much everything) and then attempt to recompile the entire megamod and take 3-4 hours.

2) 100% certainty that the bgmain.exe will CTD because everyone knows the WEIDU auto-reinstall feature does not work with BP. Even uninstalling a small feature at the end of the megamod chain tends to totally corrupt the entire install, I mean if we are talking about a 3-4 hours WEIDU recomplile vs a 5 hour complete reinstall, I'll take the latter, because at least it's guaranteed to start up.

2. Open your existing WeiDU log and delete everything after the Fixpack component you need to de-install and close your WeiDU log and save it.
3. Uninstall the offending Fixpack component.

5. Open that saved copy and delete just the line that refers to the component you just deleted.
6. Close and save your WeiDU log and your ready to roll.
7. Yes it works.

AH, I see, by doing this the system doesn't recompile the stuff afterwards, I see. I'll try that and see if it works, thanks.

Yes. Your WeiDU log is what WeiDU uses to determine what you have installed in your game and what to automatically uninstall and re-install. If the later components don't appear in the log, they don't get uninstalled and re-installed.

Okay, what you and Chev said did work in starting the cutscenes (IDed item). But its just like RoT world map problems. With RoT Arlax is permanently greyed out--here it's impossible to travel to the River Chiontar without the carriage ride. And River Chiontar keeps saying destination unreachable, and Soubar never opens up (obviously, since I'm in River Chiontar and the area is unreachable itself, it won't unlock anything new).

I uninstalled WM 6.5 and installed 6.6 to see if that would fix it but no avail. I also noticed that TDD areas also became "destination unreachable" after the Umar cutscenes (both in instances of a new game and also in my old game) so I suspect TDD and SoS don't play well with each other, since arriving at Umar Hills automatically opens up Trollford, as well as the main SoS story line, that's probably where the conflict is.

OK! I give up trying to play the megamod lol.

I'll come back when 1.13 TDD/SoS comes out, and when 6.11 or 6.12 RoT comes out, or WM 7, hopefully by then these globals and map travel issues can be cleared up.

I don't understand this. If there are some components in the FixPack, which you all know conflicting with other mods, why not to remove them from the FixPack and/or release some light version of the FixPack or at least encourage people to use Baldurdash-WeiDU like Azazello mentioned before? It's doesn't make sense for me otherwise, and I really don't like the fact that TS is crashed because of this. It doesn't matter whether it's BP version or not, it's still my mod, and Horred and then KD worked on it to make it compatible with other mods. Now some loosy component in the FixPack ruins our work. And the worst that because of this FixPack, which is still in beta, someone says that TS is unstable, and the areas crash.

Sounds like Vlad, but I have my doubts. Log in and say it again.

Whatever, whoever, don't read too much into this thread. There is some doubt as to the validity of the bug claim. The real Vlad would be much harsher in terms of the problem being reported properly, in order to research and fix it.

Plus, I did not encourage using Baldurdash-WeiDU. I don't.
