So this is what's been happening in our game, randomly but regularly, for several characters now:

I've heard of this, but can't remember the cause/fix right off. If it comes to me (or I find it) I'll let you know asap! In the meantime, you might search and/or post on it at the ESF in the hardware/software forum - that's where I've seen it come up in the past.

Ah -- hardware/software! Hadn't thought of that. Had only searched in the mods section.

edit: found this thread, hopefully the ini editing will fix it. (We're at 1024x768, so it can't be the resolution thingy.) Thanks Luchaire!

Well as it turns out, you're probably going to have to actually post there. Since their stupid-ass forum won't allow searches on 3-letter words, doing a search including the word "map" is impossible, and I can't think of any other keywords that would bring it up. This is compounded by the fact that "disappearing" or "invisible" bring up pages upon pages of old threads related to the SI FormID bug. Gah! *hates the ESF search function and gives it dirty looks*

heehee. We'll see if what I found works. Yeah, stupid three-letter search restriction thingy. Because what three-letter words would ever be useful for searching on an crpg forum? Certainly not map. (This emoticon totally used to intend sarcasm in this instance.)

It should. I'd forgotten about that ini line because I changed it so long, long ago in my game (like... 2 weeks after release ) because it makes the local map full color.

Yep - even if it doesn't work, the map looks way cooler. Score!

EDIT: Aaaannd - well, at least we have a cooler looking blank map.
