Well, started Photoshop this morning and started drawing from scratch, googled some pictures to have references for arms and the head.

So keep in mind that this picture is painted from scratch and its the second picture like this I've ever made.

Here's what I've got atm:

1) Faceless but pretty much done with the first part.

2) Added face - tried to look on like 1000 pictures to find a girl that looked the same way so I could see how the lips and nose looked like from that angle, this is the result.

Ooh, not bad at all! Well done on the jeans - the texture looks fantastic. Her hair is of good color, but does not seem quiet natural. The pose is extremely good, but I'd work more on shading, especially on the boots and the top. Also a drop shadow would make her fit into the background better. Also - don't be afraid of the face. Go on and try it, be simplistic at first and use reference photos. I would like to see you work more on this one, because it has potential of become one hell of a fashion picture!

Thanks for those wonderful words, though I'm really scared of trying the face :D

Every time I try it only ends up looking like a 4 year old drew the face.

Got any tips?

Hmm. Like I said, work on shadowing more. When you deepen the shadows, you get to build the face with light-shadow values entirely. Or just keep it simple! Focus on keeping the proportions right and emphasize the eyes and eyebrows over the nose, and the upper lip over the lower lip. Here's some basic face tutorials if you need some:

Makani's Face Tutorial (basics of proportions and character building with lineart)
Portrait-Artist: Face Structure
See also these Polykarbon tutorials, they're extremely handy in understanding anatomy and dynamics.

The proportions look fantastic! Now it just needs contrast. Darken, deepen, color, shadow. Go on! Give it a try. Oh, and one thing that could help with working is to have a *big* resolution picture when you work on it, and zoom around a lot. When you're finished, you can resize it to a viewer friendly size, but you get all the details in a lot better when the working piece is *huge*. I'm talking atleast 1500x1500 pixels or so, it depends.

I don't know if I can add more than Ilmatar, but again, looks great so far! I think adding shadows to both the figure and the background will help tie the two together - they look a little separated as it stands, and you can't quite see how her back hits the wall. But with shadows that will all be cleared up.

I like the face you've added in. Good luck with it, can't wait to see how you develop the picture!

Well... not quite so appropriate now I changed it. Sorry, Jadikins. <3 <3
