I don't quite understand what resistances do. I have 2 cases:

wizard's fire shield (red) has 2 effects
- stat: fire res modifier
- stat: reduced damage form magical fire modifier

potion of fire res has only one effect
- stat: stat: fire res modifier

Does it mean that potion of fire resistance does not protect from magical fire at all? Or what?

I'm still half asleep, but I think the game might actually not use the "magic cold/fire" attributes at all.

Of course it might depend on the game you're playing.

It doesn't. Magical fire resistance does nothing.

So, the "Magical fire resistance" is an old engine relic, I wonder, could it be used for a new damage type?(plasma...)

Deactivated account. The user today is known as The Imp.

As I recall, it crashes the game if any spell or item actually uses it.

Easy enough to check. I'm curious about the Soul Eater damage type, too.

"Tyranny is a quiet thing at first, a prim and proper lady pursing her lips and shaking her head disapprovingly, asking, well what were you doing (wearing that dress, walking home at that hour, expressing those inappropriate thoughts) anyway? It's subtle and insidious, disguised as reasonable precautions which become more and more oppressive over time, until our lives are defined by the things we must avoid. She's easy enough to agree with, after all, she's only trying to help -- and yet she's one of the most dangerous influences we face, because if she prevails, it puts the raping, robbing, axe-wielding madmen of the world in complete control. Eventually they'll barely need to wield a thing, all they'll have to do is leer menacingly and we fall all over ourselves trying to placate them." -godlizard

If soul eater damage kills a monster then game crashes. I've learned that nearly a year ago.

Retired from modding.
